Wanda Sykes’ coming out inspiration
Two famous coming out stories in the African-American community, Wanda Sykes and Sheryl Swoopes, have a common inspiration. Both say they were encouraged to be their authentic selves thanks to a motivational speaker who had the right words at the right time. She talks to Chagmion Antoine.
I just recently discovered Wanda Sykes when a friend of mine sent me a link to a YouTube video. She is hilarious! I am glad to see that she is active in the gay community. The more celebrities that come out and are activist the better off the gay community will be.
Wanda is one of the funniest comedians today. I think it’s awesome that she plays on “our team”.It’s also awesome that she came out. The more that famous people come
out,the more positive our outlook will be.
