The statement that the Mormon church made about being “singled” out is pure proof of their tactic to use their powerful influence to get their members to vote a certain way in order to get their agenda across and the play the victim card by stating that they were only using their constitutional right of free speech. When the GLBT people protest around their places of worship they call it a “mob” and use the old persecution complex to make it look as though they are being unfairly dealt with. They do it all the time in response to these issues. It’s pretty scary to say the least.

I love Whoopi! She has been an outspoken supporter for gay people LONG before it became chic. She’s truly one-of-a-kind.

And LOGO dropped the ball this past weekend. They should have been covering the Calif protests on the 15th, but I didn’t see them anywhere. Maybe I overlooked it or I haven’t tuned in at the right time, but every time I check out what’s on LOGO it seems to be shows like “Gimme Sugar” or “Noah’s Arc” or “Click List.”

Of course, those shows are wayyy more important than anything going on right now.

Thanks Rodney for your comments. I have had a lot of anger against the Mormon church lately. It really helped me to put it into perspective and to validate my feelings about the whole situations. We’ve just been going about our business, trying to live our lives, honestly, openly and equally. And then the mormons come along to fuck with us. Screw their damn book of lies! I am so tired of having to defend myself against these religious nuts with there fairy tales of miracles and damnation. Let’s keep their bible out of our constitution! Isn’t that what America is all about?

And on an unrelated note… Whoopi’s ‘friends’ are gay? quelle surprise. Is it just me, or does her endorsement seem to be offered from the safety of the Hollywood closet? Just sayin’.

Thank god we got Gay Marriage passed in Canada through legitimate political process, despite the same divisive arguments from religious groups and conservatives at the time. Last I checked, our society hasn’t crumbled in the wake of the legislation, and if anything, has disappeared as an issue from our collective radar. I hope that one day soon, the USA will reach the same place. The new militancy of the LGBT community in the states is inspiring to see. It gives all of us living outside your borders hope for the future so compromised by the Bush administration.
