The names and identities of those against gay marriage in California have now been published online and is being referred to as the “dis-honor role”. Len Ramirez has the story from San Francisco.

Here in MA every donation to any political issue, whether it is a politician running for election, or an issue such as our Gay Marriage initiative, HAS TO BE RECORDED WITH THE SECRETARY OF STATES’ OFFICE, and as such is A PUBLIC RECORD!! Posting the names of contributors to The Prop 8 organization is perfectly valid and legitimate! In fact the Prop 8 folks could do the same thing and post the names of those who are against their amendment issue! It’s a two way street which we have made A ONE WAY STREET!!
In MA we had a private citizen do the posting and they called it “Know thy Neighbor”! It was great! Keep on fighting! A in Boston

This man even looks like GW Bush…more hate …. and what is a Mormon…the religion that doesn’t believe in monogamy doing pushing his/her way of life on those of us that want a monogamous marriage…we are not asking to be aloowed to have a Mormon wedding. He should go back to Utah where his religion is KING!

I just saw the video story with this guy from San Jose speaking in favor of Prop 8. From the list of the people who have donated to this prop the first two names I recognised. They are also very prominate members of the MORMON church. The money is coming from the MORMON church to get Prop 8 passed. That church is very homophobic. I should know, I was kicked out of BYU university and excomunicated from the church for being GAY. It is supposed to be seperation of church and state but this church is very much into mixing into state affairs.
They encourage from the pulpit for the members to dontate to this prop.
Well, considering that Mormons are a bunch of nutjobs to begin with – this is hardly surprising. Their creepy mythologies don’t hold up well 2000 years after the fact. These people are truly, truly sad. I’m glad that their names are being published and I hope that intelligent and fair minded people will see them for who they really are. Surem, they are “proud” to support Propositon 8, because they’ve bell all but brainwashed into their silly and I might add, very self-servingm, beliefs – I just hope that the good people of CA can see through this nonsense and do what it right for ALL the people of CA.

What makes this somewhat ironic is that the “political bullying” the husband complained about has been a popular tactic used by conservatives for years. If a gay man worked for a particular company, they would complain to the company and pressure to have the man fired for nothing more than being gay and working there.
Yet now, when the shoe’s on the other foot, they’re whining that it’s so unfair.

Insofar as knowing who’s giving Prop 8 the money, I have no issue with anyone publishing the list. If anything, we need more transparency like this.
Gay intimidation and intolerance are always good ways to get support for SSM from the general public. Yeah, sign me up!

After seeing the tactics being employed by those opposed to Prop 8 (see http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/10/20/01429/971) I have decided to contribute to and actively work for the passage of Prop 8. Why is it that the religious affiliation of donors is only sought for those that are Mormon and not also Catholics (all Catholic Bishops have stated their support for Prop
or Jews (Orthodox Rabbis support Prop 8} or Evangelicals (about all Evangelical churches support Prop 8)? Instead of focusing on the merits of the Proposition itself, opponents have chosen to attack a select group of supporters based on religious bigotry and are trying to silence them by mounting smear attacks on individuals.
merits of proposition 8? what possible merits could there be john? All it will do is enshrine discrimiation into that state’s constitution, and quite probably affect heterosexual relationships too. Theres no merits to it at all.
its a bit rich to be talking about smear-attacks when smearing is EXACTLY what anti-gay people do nearly every time they open their mouthes on the subject of being gay. Its not so nice when the shoe is on the other foot is it?

All I can say is you need a good therapist. The crazy Mormons have injected themselved into an issue that has no bearing on their happiness in life. I would really like to ask one of the bigoted Mormon donors: so in the last 6 months since same gender marriage has been legal in California, how have you been so harmed? Answer, they have not been harmed and yet they still want to take away my fundamental right to marry.
If Prop 8 passes, I say we start a new initiative banning Mormons from civil marriage in California…not really, but something those bigoted Mormons should really think about for trying to take away one of my fundamental rights.
