We will never get anywhere with gay rights by using the bible to justify it. Anything can be justified with the bible, anything. The bible is an ancient fiction book written by goat herders on opiates. A civilized society would cease using it as a source of "truth". The less validation we give to this old piece of crap, the better.

I found the article and the video to be interesting and insightful. Of course, I would -- I'm a gay Christian. I have no quarrel with the arguments made here, but the real problem here is that the argument is simply irrelevant to the debate about gay marriage.

Marriage laws are civil laws; the right to marry is a civil one and the church and religion should have no say in the matter.

Take this argument to the churches and let them 'duke-it-out' but meanwhile, give me my civil rights and stop discriminating against me because of my religion or lack thereof. Since several christian denominations sanction gay unions, is it not religious discrimination to favor the views of those who prohibit it over those who welcome it. Stop trying to have the state decide the religious issue -- it has no business doing so anyway, and give me my rights as a citizen of this country.
