Good discussion on the election. The avoidance of discussing Sarah Palin was remarkable, however. What’s up with that? As for Log Cabin types, I don’t like their syrup on my issues. Back in the 60s and 70s, they were the ones who watched demonstrations in trenchcoats and dark glasses while the rest of us were jeered and attacked. There is a long unfortunate history in our minority of collaboration with the oppressors.

There is nothing “smart” about the strategy and goals of the Log Cabin Republicans, in this or any time. Perhaps I am especially jaded as I’ve only recently matured into politics, and the only political climate I’ve known has been one where my rights are endangered, but as long as the Republican Party remains socially conservative I can not understand placing faith in the group.
