Flaming Politics: Putting Hillary’s campaign to rest, and moving on
This week on Flaming Politics, Japhy puts Hillary-talk to rest (at least in his own mind) as he conducts a post-mortem on what worked and what didn’t work in her campaign, no character assassination needed. Also, gay victims of the Nazi Holocaust are honored, a Birmingham, AL Mayor puts the kebosh on a pride parade and what you can do to start getting involved in the fight for equal marriage.












Anyone who really had an interest in the way both she and Obama were portrayed by the press would not hesitate to agree that the press was vastly more sensitive with respect to Obama’s race than it was with respect to Clinton’s gender. MSNBC, for instance, was a virtual sexist-gaffe-generating machine. Unfortunately, many people got away with the discriminatory banter because of how embattled Clinton’s campaign became toward the end. Hopefully in the future when another female candidate runs for president, the press will have grown up enough to resist the temptation to report on her cleavage, laugh, voice, hair, jacket, makeup, et. al
