    • My family of origin were Mormon. They came out to the west on the Brigham Young Wagon Train. The family that they married into were Piaute. The Piautes did not discriminate against “Twin Spirits.” They considered us blessings to the tribe. For the reason of being discriminated against and being told I was “going to burn in hell” I have never joined the Mormon Church or any Christian church, instead I became a student of Traditional Piaute Spirituality. The Piaute Chief Wavoka was the one that was lead by spirit to create the “Ghost Dance.” The Ghost Dance is a dancing ceremony that prays to make the european invaders go away. Too bad it has not worked yet or we would be free to love, get married and be together as a couple.

    • Let the Mormon Church supporters of Proposition 8 feel some pain in the pocketbook. Let’s urge gay students to boycott University of Phoenix, a Mormon owned organization that recently paid a fine for discriminating against non Mormon job applicants. Plus there are a lot better places to get an education for a lot less money.

    • So typical. This thing was, no doubt, was organized by an east coast 9-5′er. Those of us who work graveyard and swing shift, particularly on the west coast, will likely miss the event. If you want REAL participation, from the party crowd as well, you’d be better off planning it for about 1pm pacific time. The goal is terrific. Next time, just put a little more thought into how to include everybody.

    • NO. NO. NO. Pacific time would be (and is) 10:30am, and the Austin address listed up there is WRONG. The correct addy is Austin City Hall, 301 W. Second Street.
