Shawn. The trick is to support gay freindly business and boycott those that don’t support equality. You need gay people in Cali. to stay and vote, pressure lawmakers, and sway the opinions of other voters. Moving is totally unrealistic. We need more gay freindly voters, not less.

Let this be a lesson to all of you that donate to lame organizations like HRC and GLADD, they care nothing for the gay community and are at best ineffectual.

The gay community needs to start putting pressure on politicians and we need to stop being so passive when it comes to dealing with homophobic bible-thumpers and their supporters.

If the gay community is not prepared to get their hands dirty and play be the rules(or lack thereof) that our enemies play by, then we might as well get used to the view from the back of the bus!

Seriously, has any considered flooding the Calif. ballots with initiatives stripping away rights of say… Mormons. If it only takes 700,000 signatures it should be easy. Surely there are plenty of people who hate those a**holes. Do it one weekend and show them how it feels to see their rights on the line. It might not pass but maken them spend a billion dollars to defeat it. And think if it were to pass, the Calif Supreme Court would have to follow its own precedent and allow the election to stand.

Dear “Roberta”, Not only is a boycott against California possible to achieve it is already UNDERWAY! Religious bigots worship MONEY! Take away their $$$ and they lose all the power. After the supposed 7th largest economy in the world begins to slide to oh, say the 37th then and only THEN will the homophobic politicians who run sacramento make some serious EFFORT into “fixing” California’s F*cked up referendum system! This is the ONLY method which will work folks. MONEY TALKS LOUDER THAN VOTES!! As for the gay community of Cali my advice to you is the same advice I give to Gay jamaicans either hunker down and ride the storm out or if possible re-locate(temporarily) to a more gay friendly state. Either way those hetero religious pr*cks who run the Cali economy WILL be brought to justice! Peace out.

Just in last few interviews, i have seen 2 “Pastors” stating that “Traditional NATURAL Marriage” should be between a man and woman for procreation, etc..

and the WIMPY bitches from CALI, neither stated, What about people who can’t have kids, or procreate? What about heteros in their 60′s or 70′s that are passed child bearing age?

COME ON PEOPLE, QUIT BEING SO DAMN NICE! Call the Bigots out on this and for sure do NOT let them sit in fron of your face and say their “marriages” are “TRADITIONAL and NATURAL” maybe natural for them but not for me, you, you and you!

I can not stand AMERICAN RELIGIOUS TALIBAN. It can’t be any more obvious now that these people can’t get past their religion adn the bible bullshit. I think some more Ted Haggards and such or their spouses, etc. need to be outed for all their “Sins!”

This time around, let’s be a little more watchful of how the money we donate to the cause is spent. Let’s not let the same folks waste it on ineffective TV spots that do little toward the cause. When someone is firing RPG’s at you, you have to be more agressive than throwing rubber darts. Although toward the end of the campaign, the spots got a little better, but come on… the battle was already lost at that point. A war requires a carefully planned strategy with the ability to react quickly. We can win this war if we do better!

I am beginning to realize that being dumped by a Religious Narcissist is truly a blessing. I say this because to build a life with a Narcissist is to have no life at all. It’s has been an excruciatingly painful experience but I have grown a great deal. Relationships are not possible with Narcissists. Unless, however you want to live a life where you have no voice and are treated like a second class citizen. You deserve better.

Shawn, boycotting California is as ridiculous as it is impossible. Gay Californians are still Californians. Shall we boycott ourselves? And should we look kindly on foreign gays and lesbians reducing their investment in our struggling economy?

We could do so much more if, instead of focusing on punishing everything that’s wrong, we just focused on encouraging everything that’s right. Go talk to your community. Show people the human face of discrimination. Convince them to support equal marriage.

oh, whinge away. suppose we lose in 2010? big friggin deal. suppose we lose in 2012? get over it. we as a community have advanced by leaps and bounds, and we will continue to in spite it all.

these are the cards we’ve been dealt. no one else will look out for us. so let’s bring this back for a vote every goddamn year until it gets pushed over the top. what kind of queers are you if you can’t take another couple slaps from anti-gay society, turn back around, and laugh in their faces? we’ve lost a thousand times before. if we have to lose a hundred more, let’s get it started soon. for heaven’s sake, enough moping. start the door-to-door campaigning! we already know it’s just around the corner!
