Daniel: On "Mores for gays: pride parades" -a little background- After battling breast cancer for 9 years, my mother passed away May 6th of this year.
Before she died in Florida, she looked me in the eyes and said "I am very proud of my gay son". I went home to Austin, Texas, put those words on a 4 1/2 foot picket sign, and carried that quote through the streets of Austin during the gay pride parade. I was dressed in my full leather outfit.

I did this to honor her memory and the love she had for me. The cheering and enthusiastic hugs from the spectators was overwhelming. I was in tears as I told the crowds "I will carry her words with me for the rest of my life". And I will
