Perhaps I’m too removed from the moment but I thought including some of these phrases would have made this article just complete, informative. I support your perspective, but you assume that all readers know what phrases and words are used in the GOP’s rhectoric. Sadly, that’s simply not the case. And nothing Gov. Palin made me warm and fuzzy. Her lies about- ‘the ‘bridge to nowhere’ but we kept the money and now are building another bridge elsewhere; I’ll persecute my brother-in-law even after he’s already been officially reprimanded a year ago; I fired dept heads who didn’t support my election campaign and call it team building and loyalty testing; L fired a librarian who didn’t agree with my book banning inquiry; were too glaring for me to hear anything else. There is no way I could suspect she’s gay-supportive, much less pro-gay. Her church is strongly anti-gay and she’s deeply rooted in their ‘Dominion prophecy” agenda.

Kids today have it so easy its criminal. What do they do but text message and play xbox. They cant even talk in a social setting, except for, LIKE and YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN. We build super expensive schools for these honor students, what do they care. You do your work on a computer ND PRINT OUT AND HAND IN. rEAL; BALLBUSTING WORK.
As for challenges they face, if they werent such smart asses maybe they’d be left alone. Quit acting like a nancy girl all the time and be a real man. Even gay a guy can be a guy. Iwas lucky and never got picked on or beatup, yet everyone in my school knew i was gay. Imade friends and had fun with one of the cutest guys you could imagine. All this in a small Ohio town in the 70’s. Todays youth have no originality or social skills and mom and pop wonder at this as they work 2 jobs to get them the latest carjacking video game Reality is a plastic toy from last weeks hit movie. And earrings for infants. Materialistic, of course, and they’ll get gy just fine.

I think if Palin want’s to be so rightous in her family values that she should think about her daughter getting pregnant while she was not married and now when Palin becomes VP her daughter will be getting married to the man that got her pregnant which is wrong for us to pay for daughter’s wedding when Palin expects everyone to regard family values and yet if the Gay Community wants rights and nobody wants that then why should we put Palin in office of the VP if she was pregnant prior to accepting the VP nomination and none of the Canidates believe that Gays should have the same rights as a man and women have, we can vote, we can pay taxes and we can live, But we can not serve in the Military and we can’t get married. I think this election is going no where, the only time canidates need our support and help is to be elected and then the canidates forget about us their whole term until the next election when they need our support.
Just like people on Disability and fixed income, the canidates forget us when it comes to stimulus packages and income increases and rights, but they have a great memory when it is election time and then they need our votes to remain in office, I refuse to vote as long as gays have no rights as a couple and the canidates forget us as low income or fixed income and yet we can’t afford food and to pay our bills because our elected officals forget about us 99% of the time, they have great memories around election time. So around election time I forget about them and vote for people who do remember us during their term and that is how I vote, I forget you when you forget me during your term in office, when you remember us full term and you deserve it then I will remember your office is up for election, HELP ME I HELP YOU, fair is Fair

Trace, give your hate filled head a shake. Obama said in is address that the Dems and Repubs may not agree on gay rights but surely they can come to a compromise so that gay and lesbians can be protected… What do you think would happen if he came right out and said he was for gay marriage? You personally might be happy to hear him say that but it would be the death of the Democrats chances of gaining the Whitehouse. It’s a “one step at a time” issue. Obama’s words tell me that he does not hold the same opinion as the Republicans on the gay issue and that he supports gays. Do you think America is ready to accept gay marriage when they can’t even accept a gay in the military or protect a gay from being fired in 36 states? Gay Americans are going to have to understand that it is goingto take time to win the rights they deserve. I’m not saying that’s right, I’m just saying that’s reality.

The problem is in religion itself. The entire idea is just a long outdated method of explaining why things are as they are, and why everyone’s gotta be just-so.

We’re supposed to be a secular nation and yet the religious get their say in public life. Especially in the current Republican party which seems to have embraced religion as a method of scaring up votes.

Gay life will not get any better so long as outdated authoritarian religious ideas are used as the measurement of what ‘human’ or ‘American’ is.

Here in SC teens are beaten by their parents just for being gay or tossed out from their home and as I said before they do it in God’s name. Imagine having a VP encouraging these actions. In SC the suicide rate for gay teens is outrageous. I cannot believe that anyone Dem or repub would allow this to happen to our teens.

I just finished watching Palin’s speech. She is a shrill witch. McSame and his Bitch have opened the flood gates of criticism and I believe they gave everyone the right to throw the BULL$HIT at them now, without any censorship. She lied outright, threw disgusting insults at the competition and used all those Elephantine code words which are designed to make the Republicans rich, the rest poorer than ever, and limit the American rights to all but her own like-minded and “precious” cronies. Please deliver me from such holier-than-thou hypocrites who think they have the only viable moral standing in the universe. She will be nothing but an even more derisive and divisive person in these United States than currently exist in Washington, DC. She gave no solutions to our national and international problems, and slammed the Democrats without a leg for her to stand on. Shame on her. My mother warned me about self-serving mean-spirited people like her. She is taking on the media and news groups. I expect she will loose big time. I hope they go after her till she cries in front of a national audience, and then resigns on the spot and walks off.

Well, that was a fine bit of scare-mongering on your part. Though I won’t be voting for the Republican ticket, I’m sympathetic on at least one issue: People like you are slamming their VP candidate as POSSIBLY anti-gay. She MIGHT make a speech we don’t like. WHAT IF she causes another teen suicide? This kind of reporting is misleading. You’ve stacked the deck against her on these issues. I’m sure she’ll be able to alienate us all on her own. She doesn’t need your help – and we don’t need your scaremongering. Why didn’t you dig up her voting record on such issues? Where are the anti-gay statements she’s made in the past? Please, report the facts. Not the worst case scenario. Most of us can imagine that without your help. Shame on you for lowering your standards to those of our enemies.
