THANK YOU! As a gay evolutionary biologist, I've had endless arguments with people (and rolled my eyes continuously at the popular press) regarding the conflation of issues of biology with morality, especially surrounding the topic of homosexual behavior. It's refreshing to hear someone read intelligently (and with humor) from the recent spate of fruit fly studies without taking them completely out of context. Speaking of such articles, I think this reductive search for a 'gay gene' is completely ridiculous (especially in fruit flies... could a more removed and inappropriate model be found?), considering what we know about gene-gene interactions and the effects of environmental factors on the development of complex behaviors. Studies on how homosexual or bisexual humans biologically perceive or experience desire (from a neuroendocrine perspecive, for example)... I think that would be worth reading about.
