Yukkuri,

Please reread this article. John says "For the record, the grading story is entirely fictional.)" Meaning that the story he just wrote about is false, not true, made up"

There's a wide gap between approval and acceptance. I don't care if you approve of me and my partner of eight years relationship, as long as you ACCEPT the fact that it's a relationship and not just "roomies with benefits"!

I don't mean "accept" as in "yeah, I could see myself doing that too" but as in "OK, that isn't for me...but I can't say it doesn't work for you guys."

Ah, morality! What is the source of our morality as individuals? Should our morality determine our judgment of others? Should everyone be required to adhere to my moral code, or should their be a societal morality that is more closely representative of our collective beliefs? Questions, questions!

I have a problem with people whose morality is based upon their religion and feel they must compel everyone to adhere to their moral code by having their religious beliefs codified into law. That is not a mentality that contributes to a diverse society whose collective morality should be representative and respectful of all.

All heaviness aside, I did get a giggle out of the "what's true for me..." argument. It reminds me of the fish emblems I see on cars that have the word "TRUTH" embedded in them, as if proclaiming their religious beliefs as truth ends the argument and trumps the beliefs of all others. Wasn't it the "truth" once upon a time that the sun revolved around the earth?

Did you really have to give the guy an F for expressing his opinion, as off as it was?

I mean, unless the paper was only a really small portion of his grade, I now remember why the idea of going to college in a few years bothers me.
