I have no idea where you came up with such notions that I believe gay people should take a back seat to anyone, ever. I am one of the biggest proponents for gay equality that you would ever meet.

Get this–my aunt, a nun, recently explained to me that “Christ is there for those that need him the most…most Catholics and fundies would lie, cheat, steal, murder, etc. if they weren’t threatened with punishment or promised reward for being good. They are barbarians that can’t act good for the sake of their fellow man…Pretty damning, eh? FROM YOUR OWN NUNS!

Mr. Bensen, you had better hope and pray for the success and growth those that identify as Christian. Worldwide, those that identify as Christian is dropping as are those that identify as having no religion. The group that is growing steadily? Islam. In every credible survey and measure, Islam is the only belief system that has consistently shown growth.

The simple fact is that there may be some Christians that do not like gay folk. There are certainly many that are opening and welcoming of gay folk. When you’re dealing with Islam, every one wants gay folk not only gone … but dead.

Well, well, well. The great religion hater Wayne Besen tries to deflect from my criticism. My rebuttal was in my comment that the message you are preaching is religion hatred. Simple enough a criticism of this article.

As for criticizing you? Who once famously called parents teaching religion child abuse? Your own words do that for me.

Don’t be fool by what seems foolish comments, stunts, and grandstanding by the Republicians and the Religious Right these days. They have all the doom and gloom news today to feed the fears of so many in the next couple of years if Obama’s economic plans doesn’t turn the economy around. Plus they will always have us queers to still blame for the all the bad that has happen to this country. Also,remember there are a lot of educated people too, and not just poor and uneducated folks that support their party’s platform. They may be down some now, but they are a long way from being gone. If ever at all.
