Washington can't even decide who's president for Gods sake ! Is it Obama , Cheney or Pelosi? This country has become a laughing stock, much like the last administration , maybe a re-election is in order.....

Just for the record, supporting the Justice Department in defending current law while simultaneously working on legislation to reverse DOMA is *not* flip flopping. It's called respecting the order of law. It's called "working hard to honor my campaign promise." (He never promised to stop all application of the law before the law was overturned.)

We're still in the process of skewering W Bush for applying politics to the Justice department inappropriately and (probably) illegally when they fired those federal lawyers because they wouldn't investigate Democrats more aggressively at the bidding of the Republican party. But here we go wanting the President to use the Justice Department to do something symbolic to please a political constituency? The Justice Department is either politically neutral when it defends current law or it's not...just because we on the Left think "we're right" doesn't mean we can have our cake and eat it too on this issue.

Geez, you Obama haters on the Left are as tedious as the Obama haters on the Right. Both of you see every little action or inaction through your "Obama stinks" colored glasses. It's so tiresome. Relax...breathe...open those minds!

OKAY, I know that there are people in the church community that say that same sex marriage is wrong, but that is only their opinion. Denying someone the benefits, and programs of the government that are meant for everyone to use, even if they are gay is wrong. Gay, straight, whatever, we are all still people and United States Citizens who deserve equality.

Honestly, folks, even as a Democrat, I know we still have a lot hurdles to overcome heterosexism. If we depend on one political party or politician, we are doomed to failure. PUSH Congress to act---they haven't done anything worthwhile and the opinion polls show that. Next, get involved with state politics. That is where the true power resides. However, a little activism wouldn't hurt either! On a more personal note, my own Rush Limbaugh loving brother has needed a LOT of coaxing to see the plight of gays and lesbians. So you see, getting straights to go to bat for us always begins at home. Just a little food for thought!

Honestly guys, I don't know why you all are dissing Obama for right now. He's only been in office for a short period of time after his inauguration and already, you guys look for someone to blame for your "mistreatment". Sometimes, it kinda makes me ashamed to say that I am gay from all the whining and the fussing that comes from all the people that live in America and Canada. "Where's our rights?" "Why can't we marry?" "We want it now!" I'm just thankful that I am not dead right now, as that what would have happened in the past 'or' living in some other countries today.

Obama may not be living up to his promises that he said about the gblt community right now, but give it time. As much as I hate to say it, the glbt "MINORITY" (key word) group is a far-cry from the Democrats plan right now with dealing with a crashing and job-less economy, environmental pressues, and even war issues. So please, be considerate to the government. Give it time... and our chance to have rights will come.

Seems like it is getting harder and harder to tell Dems from Rep. Tell you what if the Gay and Lesbians in America have not the right to the same as other couples why do we have to pay taxes? 4 years may pass faster than Obama may think. Lets hope the Dems. grow a back bone soon.

Obama is a politician and will go with the political tide. I don't think he will flip flop on DOMA, he'll just remain silent on it. A repeal of DOMA will not happen in this still conservative Democratic congress. A super-majority of 60 votes means nothing when you have red-state democratic senators voting against progress.

Obama is more worried about his right flank than he is about the gay community. He "knows" that he has our vote regardless. I think it is time we protest Obama, otherwise, it will be status quo. We need to stop being "nice little queers"!

Obama disgusts me. If you think we are going to get anything from him, you're delusional
