The loudest voices, like Donnelly (a Catholic name most likely), are more interested in defending their religious prejudices, and yes hatred, then in defending the United States of America.

Nice people, aren't they.
................................
And please dont forget there are lots and lots of good Catholics. And also priests who support gay equality. But these priests know that to "come out of their closet" by challenging the chruch" and speak against its dictators, is the end of their career.

There is an opportunity long term here - to force the church to change or die. By organizing the priests.

Fighting to abolish DADT is not fighting for a right. It is fighting to show we want to fulfill the same responsibilities and obligations as all citizens.

No Dave, our fight is not against or with religion. We do have a fight against homophobic religion-- and we could even win that fight if we were to remember we also have strong allies in the faith community who will come out and fight with us-- if only we ask!

As we make these advancements, in ENDA, DADT, DOMA and of course marriage equality it is really telling to here so many of the protagonists say things like Mr. Choi "my dad is a Baptist minister"

Our TRUE fight is with religion and we will not win full equality until we realize, as HRC has so foolishly ignored, that relgious "outreach" is an apologist's strategy.

I am slowing getting closer and closer to just not paying TAXES, Why should we? We get no BENEFIT at all from the taxes and where I live I don't even get decent streets!

When I get the same "Citizenship" and NOT 2nd class ratings then I will pay my appropriate taxes! OR when the churches start paying taxes...

They can't have it both ways! Side with the churches are include US!

equalnotspecial is exactly right. The policy is an affront to tax-paying citizens. I have no desire to serve in the military, but I think people should not be prohibited from doing so because of something as irrelevant as their sexual orientation.

DADT uses our tax dollars to persecute gay soldiers while teaching prejudice and discrimination to everyone in and out of the military. The only purpose it serves is to perpetuate the stigmatization of gay people. Repeal should be a priority.
