Haven't the pop and his Church (Religion)the Vatican gain enough wealth from the suffering of people??

The catholic Church The pop The Vatican can no longer gain wealth from the developed countries so why not capitalize on the suffering of Africa.

What have the Vatican the pop done for Africa lately??
Financial help to educate against the spread of HIV.
Financial help to educate people on the need to educate their children.
Financial help for schools etc.

Their only contributing is to cultivate bigots that disrupt progression. A progressive, educated, prospering nation turns away from religion. The Vatican then losses it's power and for sure it's wealth.

OK, here we go! First of all, like Kieran, I too left the Roman church for the green pastures of the Episcopal Church. As a cradle Catholic, I cannot recall a worse Pope since the Middle Ages. (I was a history major in college plus twelve years of Catholic schools.) However, people, name calling and idle threats will NEVER get us anywhere. This Pope is just plain ignorant and his many pronouncements from the throne of St. Peter reflect that. This Pope has destroyed the progress of Vatican II and ruined many lives along the way. Protest we must---but let's tone down the inflammatory remarks. If this Pope calls for another Crusade against us, then the time has come to fight back.

>The Vatican on Friday denounced the criticisms of the pope’s comments about condoms and AIDS during his trip to Africa, saying they marked an unprecedented attempt to intimidate him into silence.

It's called "disagreement" and "political opposition." Get used to it.

What else would you expect of a nazi

So corrupt they don't even know the meaning of the word.

The greatest danger to this country and what it is supposed to stand for, despite all its mistakes, is not Islamic Terrorism, but the monstrosity of Rome.
Next you'll see them joining up with the taliban.

How the words of the early 20th century philosopher Bertrand Russell ring true. In a 1927 lecture "Why I am Not a Christian" he stated "You find as you look around the world that every single bit of progress in human feeling, every improvement in the criminal law, every step towards the diminution of war, every step towards better treatment of the coloured races or every mitigation of slavery, every moral progress that there has been in the world, has been consistently opposed by the organized churches in the world". In my observation and directly relating to Mr. Russell's thoughts, the Church has seen fit to condemn progress towards eradicating one of the most devastating diseases of our time. We must fight HIV / AIDS with whatever technology we have available to us. The Church, once again, by refusing to accept the use of condoms, is not only encouraging the continued spreading of this horrible disease, but is also encouraging population growth which the world can no longer handle.

Thomas....in my opinion, all religious denominations are cults. They all have their leaders dictating what they can and cannot believe and they all cherry pick references in the book of fables, the bible and quran to suit their agenda and to justify discrimination against us. They are so transparent. What we as a powerful voting block should do is to start a movement pushing them back by demanding the removal of their tax-exempt status for starters. It is a violation of that status to influence the outcome of legislation of any kind. Lets give them a taste of what hate legislation is all about by going after their tax freebies, among other thigns.

I am baffled by the apparent refusal by the Vatican to see beyond the end of its own nose. Yes, technically, taking a single statement or set of statements out of a larger grouping of statements is taking something out of context. However, it doesn't matter how much the pope thinks that AIDS victims should be taken care of. Rather, that's very good, kind, and nothing more or less than we would hope for from a statement by the pope. To say that condoms aren't the answer and actually contribute to the spread of AIDS is horribly irresponsible to say the least. Countless studies have proven the effectiveness of condoms in reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS. To suggest otherwise is unthinkable. No, they are not 100 percent effective, but obviously an abstinance only policy is much, much less effective. Those who continue to preach abstinance only and expect it to be effective are sticking their heads in the sand and hoping it will all go away. Still, that's the obvious, moral choice, so it should definitely work, right?

This is a parody, right?

I mean the world's largest, wealthiest ideological movement which uses threats of eternal damnation complaining about being 'intimidated' by activists....
