Not to pile on but,

Right now LGBT Families are STILL being torn apart , on a daily basis, via the discriminatory practices of our Administration’s antiquated and unfair immigration system. In 2009 thousands of Tax-paying, Lawful US Citizens are forced to either - live in exile, in the shadows, enter into sham marriages or separate.

The US is the ONLY English speaking country in the free world that does not afford ANY Immigration Rights for qualified Same-sex couples. It’s LONG overdue that the Leader of the Free World step up and join 19 of our closest allies to provide some vehicle for it’s own Citizens. Federal Employees or not, ALL Lawful Americans should be able to use the US immigration system regardless of their sexuality!

Back in March the White House voiced it’s support for the Uniting American Families Act UAFA which would rectify this inequality & recognize ‘Permanent partners’ as part of immigration law. This Legislation FINALLY is getting the support it deserves after nearly a DECADE rumbling around in Congress. It is LONG overdue and the Whitehouse needs to fulfill it’s promise and help to correct this gross injustice. Support the UAFA and the RFA - because it’s the right thing to do!

You see some of us can't wait- some of us are literally forced to leave the Country to be with our Partners.

Obviously, Ryan you aren't in this position - otherwise I doubt you'd be so damned patient.

DOMA will take a while but the UAFA can help give yout brothers and sisters Federal Rights that we desperately need.

please see immigrationequality.org to help out!

As a former (now retired) Federal Employee, I see this as a big fat "0". He does not deserve support from our community. He is as of now a false friend. Actions like telling the Democratic Congress to repeal DOMA and Don't Ask is only granting us our basic human rights. He seems to care more for the Muslims than us. He should (If he was a real man) sign an Executive Order not some memorandum that expires when he leaves office that would grant us civil liberties. I am angry as Hell and would not give him my money nor vote. I just can't believe I fell for his bullshit and voted for him. I did not care for McCain/Palin..... but would we really be any worse off?

More nazi like propganda from the false prophet and putative anti christ. The man takes his play book from Joseph Goebbels. The "Big Lie" is alive and well in the 21st century. Those who are for equal rights for GLBT folks should withhold every dime of their money from the back stabbing democrats. He did nothing, he has done nothing, and this annoucnemnt tody reiterated what Bill clinton and others have already done. this man speaketh with forked tounge. His actuions prove it, but dumed down america continues to be fooled. Very sad indeed.

I am sickened by these events. I am aware that the President is busy and that he has many things on his plate, but this is no excuse for failing to act on his promises. When he became President his time ceased to be his own- Mr. Obama is subject to a higher set of standards than the average citizen. I find it especially disturbing that a "minority" individual would VOLUNTARILY CHOOSE this path. It makes me question how someone who speaks of his own struggles with discrimination would so willingly trample on the rights of others. I can't help but entertain the idea that he holds personal biases and bigoted beliefs, and that these had something to do with his decision. It makes for great speeches to talk about equality and unity. How are we supposed to believe this man when he sticks up for the little guy only when it suits his own best interests? Typical lawyer.

I submit that more gays are harmed by the lack of health insurance than by DADT, and more gays are harmed by the global financial crisis than DADT. I guess all you whiners have great jobs and great health insurance. I will gladly wait until the biggest problem facing Americans (people dying because of no medical care)is fixed. Obama is fighting a fight for 49 uninsured million Americans,I know you thought he was a God but he is only human. GIVE HIM A BREAK AND SOME TIME

He's a Christian from the black church that - let's face it - is overwhelmingly and intensely homophobic. He already said he opposes gay marriage for religious reasons. That alone tells me he simply doesn't get it. He's as progressive on gay issues as white Southern Democrats in the 60's were on race issues.

So, the president has "so much on his plate" that he doesn't have time to keep his campaign promises? Yes, indeed, he's a busy boy, what with fancy restaurants, broadway plays, and Paris visits!!! Goodness! He may not have time to think about minorities until he needs money and votes for those wonderful, pro-gay Democrats! The result is the same--push the gays to the back of the bus---but at least the Republicans were honest about their 18th century attitudes while the Democrats lied all the way thru election night. Here's hoping all of you who voted for "change" are happy now!

Michael D Fleming and T. Wolf, your racist comments have no place here. Your comments demonstrate your ignorance and convey the exact same type of prejudices that we in the LBGT community are working to overcome. Prejudice, intolerance and bigotry have no place in our movement for equality, or we are nothing better than hypocrites.

Obama should be judged only on the content of his character and his actions as President. So far, on LGBT issues, he gets a failing grade.

If there weren't a Democratic fundraiser falling apart due to this administration's homophobia, we wouldn't be tossed even these pathetic crumbs.

This is about betrayal, betrayal of the hope and belief that drove so many of us to get him elected.

Unfortunately it ended up being The Audacity Of Political Cynicism.
