While your knee jerk reaction would be to boycott Utah – that does not serve the GLBT and GLBT community supporters there. If anything, you need to go to Utah and be OUT! Let them know we are here and queer! The only way to transform America is to be out in it. Staying in the gay ghetto only keeps us in the closet. GET OUT THERE!

Thanks for the link – I went and put my 2 cents in on this. I was raised in Southern Utah in a Mormon household – and I totally agree that there are lots of queer youth in Utah who could use to see some examples of gay love – especially those, who like them, grow up in the heinous mormon culture. So good on Tyler and Spencer and much luck to them in their marriage!!!!

I would recommend that people start going to their website and sending them an e-mail about this. I couldn’t resist telling them that their refusal to run the announcement was akin to lynching an African-American for existing. That might be a bit too strong, but I made my point.

The only way we’re going to end discrimination is to fight it whenever it crops up no matter how small the issue.

They are, of course, free to publish or not.

And the rest of us are free to punished them financially and through other media outlets.

In short – they have the right to be bigots. And the public has the right to put them into bankruptcy (and to boycott their advertisers).

The paper is owned by Gannett, which has USA Today in its lineup. Gannett is easily found on the web. They need to be reminded by all of us how much businesses felt the anger for being listed as Prop 8 contributors. TSecondary to that, does htis mean this itsy bitsy paper has a policy to ban DP’s from being listed in obituaries, and that kids who are adopted by gays and lesbians will be listed as orphans because Utah does not allow those either? Time to challenge them and their owner.

Oh and I do love living here – I think that because it is so beautiful, that all GLBT folk should flock here and take over the state and chase out the Mormons – we deserve to live someplace so beautiful. I kid you not it is absolutely amazing and the Gay community that is here are amazing and plentifull. Mormons are breeding queers by the boat load, much higher then the national average, I swear!! Cuties too~~

They will never chase me out, there are too many gay young Mormons that are killing themselves because of this twisted mixed up faith. And I must also include there are far more really cool Mormons then it appears. Fuck, I cant believe I am defending them, but it is really true!

The actually lied about our organization and then wouldnt write about our Pride Celebration with 2500 atendees including a Utah Senator and several other Utah State officials.
