(New York City) Miss California USA can retain her crown even though she failed to reveal she had posed in her underwear as a teenager, pageant owner Donald Trump said Tuesday.
Carrie Prejean appeared by Trump’s side as he made the announcement at New York’s Trump Tower.Trump also defended the answer that Prejean gave at last month’s Miss USA pageant when she was asked her view of marriage by judge Perez Hilton, a celebrity blogger. She said she believes marriage is between a man and a woman.
“It’s the same answer the president of the United States gave; it’s the same answer many people gave,” Trump said. “She gave an honorable answer; she gave an answer from her heart.”
Trump said he and other pageant officials had reviewed racy photos of Prejean and decided they were acceptable.
“We are in the 21st century. We have determined the pictures taken are fine,” he said, adding that “in some cases the pictures were lovely.”
After Trump spoke, the 21-year-old Prejean, who was accompanied by her parents, took her turn at the lectern, defending herself against what she described as vicious attacks.
She talked about getting thousands of letters and e-mails from people supporting her and said, about the marriage question, that Hilton had asked her a “politically charged question with a hidden personal agenda.”
“I stated my honest belief,” she said.
Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, is best known as a celebrity blogger but has also branched off into gay rights advocacy.
I am outraged at the decision to give Miss California her crown back. What a message it sends to gay woman and gay men that we are not important and that it is ok to speak prejudice about gay people. I Thought Miss California was supppose to be an example to everyone including gay America. Donald Trumps position should be taken away and so should Miss Americas crown. Gay American is tired!!!! and has had enough back set treatment.

Let’s leave the girl alone, ok. Her answer wouldn’t have mattered at all, had this scum perez hilton didn’t go off and calling her every name in the book. She’s going to keep the crown, and honestly i think she should. Those pics were not released because she broke the contract, they were released only to discredit her because she doesn’t agree with us. Whether we like it or no, she has the right to not agree with same sex marriage. If her opinion bothers you,, try to change with conversation and debate,, you won’t with calling her names and harrassing her, and I for one am glad she’s standing up for what she believes in, doesn’t matter if i agree with it or not. She has the right to give her opinion when asked to give it. If you’re not going to like the answer, don’t ask the question. perez hilton asked it knowning that if she didn’t answer it his way, he was going to hold it against her and throw a hissy fit. Would the opposition have asked her to speak against same sex marriages had hilton kept his big mouth shut??? Probably not, nothing to really gain by it; but his ranting put her in the national public eye, so why wouldn’t they want her to be a spokesperson, she was vicimized by hilton. Let’s lay off, but if you to rant, rant agains obama; he said the same thing about gay marriages, but led us to believe he would work for us. If you can’t attack him on his beliefs, then you can’t attack Miss California for the exact same belief. Besides,, gay or hetrosexual,, REAL MEN DO DNOT ATTACK WOMEN!!!
Oh, my. Well, like they say: Birds of a feather, they do flock together.
I’m very disappointed with President Obama. His definition should have been Marriage is between to people that love each other and are willing to spend the rest of their lifes together.

Maybe Trump is looking at her as the new Mrs. Trump to be.

Trump ignored Prejean’s screed for the hateful National Organization for Marriage attack ad on marriage equality. I guess that was spur-of-the- moment, “from the heart honesty” as well, Mr Trump?
Let’s not overlook Obama’s role in this sordid business: for the second time in recent weeks, the great gay hope’s opposition to our basic civil equality was used against us (the first being the Vermont governor citing Obama’s opposition to marriage equality as he vetoed the gay marriage bill).
Finally, does anyone believe that Prejean would have kept her crown for more than ten minutes if she had attacked women, Jews or African Americans? Case closed.
