Isn’tr amazing that the people behind prop8 dont understand that they are the ones trampling on an oppressed minority.

And all in the Name of God.

Is this America, or is this the rebirth of segregation, with a new victim, the gay folks.

We are witnessing the total corruption of some religions, here at home. Just as we witnessed the same in NYC and DC etc on 9/11/01 by religious people elsewhere. Same mentality, just psychological, rather then physical violence.

I could almost get the boycott thing, except for one problem–I already live in Ohio, with a law worse than Arizona’s, so avoiding Utah is for me kinda like keeping kosher by avoiding ham but eating the cheeseburger. Boycotting Park City would hurt the most un-Mormon part of Utah. Now, when it comes down to stuff directly owned by the LDS, I wanna avoid enriching them. Then again, maybe it’s better to just act as if nothing has happened, keep fighting the fight, and know that they will lose this fight. It’ll happen in my lifetime, no doubt. That’s more traumatic for the LDS than anything I can do (although I still want them sweating about their tax exemption).

Not every person who disagrees with your chosen lifestyle are “haters”. Dont work your thongs into a bunch….the court out there will rule against the will of the people before too long…just as they always seem to do out there….just give it some time…you will all be fine…

Let me see if I have this right. I am trampling on other persons’ rights if I choose not to patronize their business but they are exercising their rights if they vote to take my constitutionally guaranteed rights away. Maybe Mr. Prentice can explain to me where a business gets it “right” to compel me to do business with them.

I agree with Milton and Tiger. While I respect the rite of people to come out on their own time table – I DO NOT respect the rites of closet cases who work AGAINST the GLBT community or any GLBT person who is out by in turn uses their time, money and effort to actively work against GLBT rites or support orgainzations that do the same… and these people on the supposed “DL” – grow the fuck up and get some goddamn balls – you fucking pussies!

Milton you are correct. Those on the DL are no friends to our community. They want to have their cake and eat it too in the sense that they want gay sex and the what few benefits our activists garner for them, but they dont have the courage to out themselves and make a stand for equality. They also put their partners at risk with their behavior. I would cite this as one of the most relevant reasons that so many black women voted against our rights on prop 8. They are tired of getting screwed and not in the good way. The sad thing is that by voting for hate, they only drive these men farther into the closet and set themselves up for even more disappointment. For those of us who are out, we should take every possible opportunity to out those on the DL. Maybe this will force them to finally be honest with themselves and others.
