(Grove City, Pennsylvania) A student at a small Christian college in Western Pennsylvania is appealing his suspension after the school learned he had appeared in online gay pornography.
John Gechter, 22, was suspended by Grove City College because he “exhibited behavior contrary to the values” of the college.But the molecular biology senior said he needed the money to pay his tuition.
“I absolutely believe this college violated my rights,” Gechter told the Allied News of Grove City. “They [suspended] me based on my occupation. I was not doing anything illegal.”
He began his outside career when he was a sophomore, appearing in about 15 gay porn scenes under the screen name Vincent DeSalvo.
In an interview with The Allied News, he said his secret was discovered by another student who had been surfing the internet. That student, according to Gechter, then sent emails of photos of a naked Gechter to other students.
Within hours, almost everyone on the campus had received the email. The following day the pictures came to the attention of college officials.
The non-denominational college says on its website “The ethical absolutes of the Ten Commandments and Christ’s moral teachings guide the effort to develop intellect and character in the classroom, chapel, and co-curricular activities.”
No date has been set for hearing Gechter’s appeal.
In 2003, the Princeton Review listing of colleges across the country listed Grove City College as the least gay-friendly campus in the country.

Shouldn’t the student who found the videos be suspended for looking at gay porn? And shouldn’t anyone who forwarded it be suspended for distributing gay porn?
I’m surprised the faculty aren’t lining up at the his door for a little fun.
When I was 13-16, the religious right used to visit me early in the morning several times a week. It was kinda fun, but messy and sticky.
I used to pray it would happen every day.
And yes, re what “al Said” – hey the end of their whole student body, except for the puritanics who are probably well on their way to being perverted priests.
Shame on the college for sure, but the larger question: Why do gay people even accociate with the religious thugs that hate us?
The church is using select-a-verse to justify their beliefs.
And I wonder how many from the college supported miss notaclue despite the fact that christ’s teachings did in fact, directly condemn her actions while he didn’t condemn homosexuality.
But they will not engage in a honest discussion about it. I was raised christin but evolved into an atheist, the truth set me free.
I agree with al, the student that discovered it was obviously surfin for porn.
I attended a lecture at the APA annual meeting in which a physician described acting in porn movies to pay tuition at medical school. He felt good about doing this work, helping others who for one reason or another had no partner. He received a positive reception from the audience of psychiatrists.
This kid’s forthcoming million-dollar lawsuit against the college should do the trick. Still, I’d like to see his work….
I wonder how many of us reading this article ran off to Google images for the name “Vincent DeSalvo” … he’s quite the looker, but he’s not packing much … is the college now going to refund his money, now that they know the source? They’d be hypocrites to keep porno money!

Well, since the ten commandments don’t say you can’t be gay or do porn (oddly, they don’t mention homosexuality at all) and Jesus never mentioned it either, he should be well-within his rights to continue to attend there and continue his career.
Of course I’m sure they wouldn’t see it that way.
The Tenth Commandment: “. . . You shall not desire your neighbor’s house, his field, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, nor his ox, NOR HIS ASS, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
So, you see, there was nothing “sinful” about Vincent DeSalvo showing his ass. It’s just “sinful” if other people ” are coveting his ass”.
…Okay, now I’m off to do some “coveting”! By the way, what was the website you said he was on? LOL!

hmmmm….I don’t know about that. Too many religious types would be in Hell. I suspect that there might be more atheists and agnostics in Heaven though, than right-wing Christians, Orthodox Jews, and radical Islamists — as well as other religious loons.
And, although the atheists and the agnostics might be surprised to find themselves there — well, at least we wouldn’t have to put up with the fundies. Heck, after a while the Devil himself would be begging to get out of Hell when faced with the prospect of spending an eternity with the likes of Jerry Falwell, Rick Warren, George Bush, Barack Obama, and Miss California.

If the school has a morals clause outlining unacceptable behavior, and if they advise applicants of this prior to admission, then I don’t see him winning a dime. He knew what the school was about before he got there. “But I had to earn money for tuition…” Please.
Private College with rules that are clearly outlined.
Most schools of this nature react the same way whether it would have been gay or heterosexual porn.
Sorry, he choose to go to this school. He should be expected to live by it’s rules.
Yep… hate to say it, I don’t have sympathy for you GAYs and LESBIANS that expect these Religious Institutes to “RESPECT” your rights.

Go to a Public School and do what the hell you want. This is why the Church(es) are scared of Marriage Equality, they don’t want to be “FORCED” to accept us. Go sue them for something like this and it will come back to blow up in your face and for all of us…
The Good Christians will have proof for their argument that we are just sexual deviants looking to “infiltrate and force our lifestyle upon them.”
I agree with “Al” if they are gonna suspend this guy, they should also suspend the naughty pervy minister that was online searching and getting off on porn that discovered this!
Religious people are the nastiest, think they are fooling someone pervs of all!
