The TR Knight article should have been listed under "ENTERTAINMENT" and not under "BREAKING NEWS."

I fully understand that the TR Knight story was not major news. If I had known the content of the TR Knight article beforehand, I would never have bothered to read it; however, the article was presented as BREAKING NEWS (i.e. News that is happening and being reported or revealed at this moment). Whenever a news article is listed under BREAKING NEWS, the normal reaction is to think of it as an alert to something that is affecting the gay community, and in turn affecting our families and ourselves.

When I read the headline: BREAKING NEWS: "Source: Knight out, Heigl in on 'Grey's Anatomy,'" my first reaction was that some sort of horrible homophobia was going on, that Knight had suffered some sort of homophobic firing or gay-bashing (a truly BREAKING NEWS story, one worth reading). It's not until AFTER I read the article that it's apparent: The story is NOT breaking news, but instead is a piece of gossipy entertainment dribble —and yet it's presented as if it were some sort of urgent news story! It's not until a day or so later that these types of news article are sorted to their proper categories. The TR Knight story was eventually sorted to the "All Entertainment & Sports" section.

I personally have no problem with stories such as the TR Knight article, but I do have a problem having these types of stories presented to me under the heading of BREAKING NEWS, as if this were an important news issue for gays and lesbians. Is it asking too much to have these types of "Entertainment & Sports" articles be listed under their proper categories, and not under BREAKING NEWS?

Who gives a damn? This is just another ABC show that has jumped the shark. I am completely fed up with network TV. We all got excited when 'Brothers & Sisters' tried to cozy up with the LGBT world and look what happened to that storyline. Same with virtually all network shows, because they are owned by conglomerates with their hands in everything else. They want our eyeballs and our money, but they do nothing to deserve either.

Uhm ,the purpose of the article was to highlight to TR's fans that he was leaving the show. No, it is not major news. But somepoeple, like myself, do not watch television that much. I do not read Soap Opera digest or anything like that. So, while this was not earth shattering news, it was a entertainment article that you would probably find in anyother newspaper/magazine anywhere.
So, If YOU dont want to know about this type of article, DO NOT READ IT! You do have a choice. You can click the link, or not. NO one forced you to read it now did they?

I think it effects the lives of some. We come to this site not only to hear about things that effect our lives but to be informed about what goes on in our community. TR was in the public eye when he was outted, so what if we are informed that he is leaving that same show. Some things are about entertainment.

I'm with Jessi on this one, "And this effects our lives how?"

Matt, the purpose of an article's "Comment Section" is to leave comments, either negatively or positively. I read 365gay.com for important information that's going on in the Gay Community, information that affects my family and me. I don't read it for superficial articles about soap opera stars. If I were interested in reading such shallow trite, I'd read "People Magazine."

I would urge people to leave comments for the 365gay editors to keep it real.
