Nobody is probing her views on equality for LGBT people. Does anyone know? With her confirmation, that boosts the number of catholics on the bench to six an even bigger imabalance. From what I know of her, she has agreed with republicans in 95% of the time, so what exactly is she about? I'll remain uneasy until she reveals where she stands on equality, especially marriage equality. Why hasn't anybody asked her?

Sotomayor will probably be a good if not outstanding justice. But it is very difficult to predict a Supreme Court justice on the basis of their rulings as an appellate court judge. After all, the appellate court judge is really trying to second-guess what the Supreme Court would do. They rarely stray very far from the positions handed down by the Supreme Court. I am hopeful that Sotomayor's background as a person of color born into straitened circumstances who had to work hard all her life to be accepted by the establishment will inform her decisions, especially when deciding issues of significance to those of who are outsiders in this society.

I think Sotomayor was a good choice. Obama made a good pick. The more liberal judges we get in, the better. It would be nice to see someone a bit more liberal though. At least we know what we are getting with her. Personally, I am Pro-Choice. We need to get more Pro-Choicers on the bench. I really like to see that she is anti-discrimination. Any discrimination is unacceptable. I like seeing that she is for religious freedom. Anybody should be able to practice any religion, as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others. I love that she struck down the decision to build a huge relgious symbol! Although, I don't see why a sex offender couldn't have a book about sex, as long as it wasn't about the underaged. I love seeing that she is for the environment. Chuka sticks should not be made illegal though, and I can't agree with her on that decision. She doesn't support chuka sticks, but she is fine with guns? I'm all for people having the right to own guns and any other weapon, as long as they are used for protection only. Other than that one little thing, Sotomayor is a good choice.
