(Houma, Louisiana) A Louisiana man was sentenced Wednesday to eight life terms after pleading guilty to eight counts of first-degree murder.
Ronald Dominique, 44, had been suspected in the slayings of as many as 23 men in southern Louisiana.Dominique was arrested at a homeless shelter in December 2006. At the time, Terrebonne Parish sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that the biggest break in the case came several months earlier, when a man told authorities Dominique had attacked him.
At a news conference following the arrest, Larpenter said that Dominique had confessed to killing 23 men, all males between the ages of 16 and 46, between 1997 and 2005.
“He stated how, when and where they were killed,” Larpenter said in December, adding that Dominique said he had sex with each of the victims.
All of the victims were homeless. Their bodies were found in ditches in seven different south Louisiana parishes. All were found bound and had been killed in similar fashion, Larpenter said, leading investigators to suspect the work of a serial killer.
In his confession, Dominique told police that he picked the men up throughout the region. Once he got the victim to his house - often with the suggestion of a threesome with another women - he said he would ask to tie him up.
After they were bound, Dominique said he would rape and then kill them. Men who refused to be tied up were allowed to leave unharmed.
More than two dozen family members of his victims were in court for the sentencing.
Dominique could have been sentenced to death, but under a plea deal he avoided trial for the life sentences. The district attorney said that the deal was reached in consultation with the families.

I knew this guy slightly many years ago. I considered him a little wierd but harmless at the time. It is the southern religious condemnation of homosexuality that led him to become the closeted, self-loathing individual that he eventually became coupled with, what I believe, was a basic individual weakness of character. I am glad that he is going to be put away for life and will no longer be a threat to the vulnerable, young, at risk men of this area.
Let this be a lesson to all of you out there looking for a little S&M thrill: DO NOT get tied up by anyone you aren’t in a relationship with. And even then I would be wary.
Funny that this story never made it on mainstream news.
he should of gotten . he killed over 23 people and he raped tham all that desrives life.
