(Oklahoma City) A state lawmaker who made national headlines by claiming homosexuality is a greater threat to the United States than terrorism was heckled by protesters as she launched a campaign for a morality proclamation that opponents said promotes an atmosphere of hate.
Rep. Sally Kern said the U.S. is drifting from traditional Christian values as she sought signatures for her petition at a state Capitol rally attended by about 250 people including ministers and their followers, four other state lawmakers, and protesters who shouted “shame on you” and “hypocrite.”“You are seeing a wonderful demonstration of intolerance,” the conservative Republican from Oklahoma City said of the hecklers.
Among other things, the proclamation says, “This nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same-sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse and many other forms of debauchery.”
The proclamation declares the federal government “is forsaking the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built.”
Last year, gay and lesbian groups demanded Kern apologize after she told a political group that “the homosexual agenda is just destroying this nation” and poses a bigger threat to the United States than terrorism.
In rebuttal to my last statement. Sound like Mrs Kern need to read her bible more. I don’t remember the vers of witch chapter of book it in but. It were the Pharisees were going to stone Mary for committing adultery. Jesus said let the fist man with out sin cast the fist stone. Jesus was writing each man that was stand there sin in the sand. I guess what I am tying to say to Mrs Kern is if you in a high public office like a State Republican Senator you should keep Racial opinions to yourself or the public will find some not so nice stuff in your life.

I once campaigned for her when I was very young [I had no idea what she stood for]. If I’m not mistaken, Kern and her husband actually run an ex-gay ministry at their church. I have family members who know her quite well and think the program is a “miracle.” Yeah. Okay.
What’s even more sad is that she represents the views of more Oklahomans than not.
She needs to pour herself a big glass of shut the hell up.

Clearly this lady needs a good old fashion mustache ride, but she had at least what 250 followers there? I mean someone yelled “iron my shirt” to hillary on the campaign trail, these things will happen.
“Religious” people appear to gave a particular gift for hypocrisy.
This sad woman is merely a symbol of a rapidly fading era, which is good news for all. I suspect she likes being in the spotlight, the Anita Bryant for our time.
It’s hysterical how she called the protesters intolerant while moving to formalize a declaration based entirely on intolerance. When Christians are intolerant, they claim it’s simply a matter of exercising their religious freedom. But, when people resist oppression at the hands of that religion’s followers, their would-be victims are labeled intolerant.
What the hell is wrong with this woman that she can’t see the sheer lunacy of her failed attempts at reason? Is she as mentally deformed as she appears to be physically so?
I just got back from visiting my sister in Tulsa and honestly people in Oklahoma really don’t seem to care whether one is gay or straight. I think Representative Kern and her kind’s days are limited.
She should be encouraged to come up with more extremist stuff. Push her to rant as much as she can. Make her crazy come right on out–it’s there, it just wants an invitation. She’ll start to cross some lines and she’ll marginalize herself, but she’ll make for great fundraising material in the meantime.

She’s going get her guns out and shoot something in Oklahoma…and she’s got something to prove (besides her own ignorance…) And I can’t really figure out what that might be…but she’s going to do something!!! Laugh at this because we need to have a good laugh…she’s not only going after us “gays” but a whole bunch of other people…so…we can watch things happen! What goes around comes around, and we really don’t have to do anything, it will happen on it’s own!
