RICK Said: ....DEMOCRATS IN FULL CONTROL AND WE GET THIS....YOU HAVE WAITED TOOOOO LONG ! SUE THE LEGISLATORS FOR DISCRIMINATION . !!!

We did sue back in the 90's. That's what leads Hawaii to be the first state to pass DOMA. 70% of the votes were to amend our constitution to over-ride the Hawaii Supreme Court decision to allow gay marriage. One of our current State Senators Mike Gabbard (dist. 19) was the leading voice of the anti-gay marriage group. At the time he had never held office and he ran ads that showed a man saying he wanted to marry his dog, and brothers and sisters saying they would get married if the amendment failed. This man spewed pure hate the likes of which will never be seen again for months. How did the state repay him for these ads and creating/leading the group “Stop spreading homosexuality international”? They elected him State Senator, a position he has never lost since. They then elected his wife to the Board of Education. (BTW if you ever see him and/or hear him speak he sounds SOOOOO gay and his wife has the no-makeup short hair butchy look)

As I said before in a post when this was first announced on 365.gay, the bill will never pass. The main problem being that even though we are full of Dem’s (don’t be fooled the Dem’s have always controlled the house and Senate) the fact is that most Dem’s are Republicans. Hawaii has this idea to only vote for the Democrat regardless of their viewpoint. This means that someone can sound like Rush Limbaugh but have a (D) next to their name and they get elected. This has diluted the ideals of the Dem’s so much in Hawaii it is almost impossible to distinguish them from the Republicans. With our lesbian Republican Gov. we will never pass this bill. We will be the last State in the Union to pass it. The only thing that holds more sway in Hawaii than money are the Mormons/Catholics, and other Christian religious groups. Stop holding your breath.

This explains why we need a new political party in this country to represent all of us. The democrats are cut from the same cloth as rethuglicans, sad to say...

When Pride parades become a movement rather than a party.
When we act like the African Americans of the past civil rights.
When we stop talking about heterosexism about marriage.
Then, our MLK will come.

Like I said before many times on other subjects:

If you are not with us, you are our enemy. Any queer who doesn't act like that is killing our community.

I hope there is a special place in Hell for these so-called "equality-minded" heterosexual legislators who are too cowardly to step up and vote FOR equality when it REALLY counts....As far as I'm concerned, they're pathetic excuses for human beings....

The only way we are ever going to have equal rights is when people get sick and tired of the church, any church, interfering in civil/government matters. The question should be, How do we make churches stick to religion and leave the government to the people? Anytime a church interferes with a government process, then that church should lose all tax exemptions. Whether it's from the pulpit or meetings in people's homes. Churches need to know they are not above the law.
