Queer As Folk, Housewives actor out of intensive care

(Los Angeles, California) “Queer As Folk” and “Desperate Housewives” actor Gale Harold is out of intensive care and improving daily at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident.

A statement from the actor’s representatives, Nancy Seltzer and Associates, says “a full recovery is expected.”

Harold had swelling on the brain and a fractured shoulder after last week’s accident. He had been under observation in the intensive care unit at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.

Harold plays Jackson, the boyfriend of Teri Hatcher’s character, on the ABC show. He played Brian Kinney in the Showtime series Queer As Folk from 2000 – 2005.

The statement added: “He thanks everyone for their good wishes.”

    • Ohhhh!

I will be expecting news regarding the myriad of others that have “played” gay characters, then. (ie: Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Mathew Broderick, Dean Cain, etc)

Sorry, I just don’t see why it’s necessary that someone appear on a gay and lesbian site simply because they “played” a gay character. Yes, I think that there is a place for straight folk in gay site stories, but this is someone that really has done nothing other than play a contemptible gay character.

    • Honestly, Trace, I shouldn’t even respond to your inane comment. Do we really need to spell it out for you ? This story belongs on a gay news site because Gale Harold is an actor who prtrayed a character of great interest to the gay community.

      Sheesh.

Trace, please get a life and focus your energy on another website.

    • I didn’t know that Gale Harold was gay?

I had always heard him report that he was heterosexual and simply played a gay character on QAF. You know – Gay for Pay.

Certainly, good to know he’s getting better but does this really belong on a gay site?

    • Good news. I was always jealous of Gale, who is said to be straight, for getting to play those love scenes with Randy Harrison.

  • Laura Said: October 24th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
    • Oh good! I am so glad he’s ok :)

    • This is such great news for Gale Harold and his family, loved ones and millions of fans around the world. He is such a versatile actor considering the roles he has played and it would have been a terrible tragedy to lose another exceptional talent as we did with Heath Ledger. Keep getting well Gale, we are behind you with love.
