It might not be such a big deal but tie this with previous episodes such as dressing with his borther like Nazis at his birthday Also his comments are taken more strongly than an ordinary soldier and hes not a kid any more all actions have results

He was jokingwith his friends. Most of us have made non-p.c. comments when kidding and teasing friends. I don’t find what he said homophobic. People are too damn sensitive.

I don’t think he meant to harm anyone.
They were all joking around,and where what they said is not appropriate,who did they really hurt? A comment caught on tape.
If it had not been taped,who would be complaining about it? I’m a lesbian and it really didn’t offend me.

That’s one thing I can’t stand about this country – sometimes we Brits can be too anxious to avoid causing offense we take political correctness too far. It’s a load of bollocks.

Words themselves can never be offensive, but rather offense should be found in the intention behind the words. Recently there was some hysteria about a white woman addressing a black woman as a “nigger” on TV here. The two women were friends, the term was used in a respectful manner and the black woman in question didn’t take offense, but still there was a public outcry.

This is a similar situation. From what I can gather he meant no offense and thus his words alone were not offensive. This is just political correctness gone too far.
