Well, linda, you’re certainly not a smart person by any account or stretch of the definition.

But if you’re looking for offense, look no further than the bible. The bible is one of the most offensive books you can read. Unless, of course, you believe that adulterers should be killed, that it’s okay to sell your daugher into slavery, and that anyone who works on the sabbath should be stoned. In deuteronomy 13, if you hear of a city in which another god is worshipped, you must kill everyone in that city–men, women, babies, even the cattle–and then you must burn that city to the ground. Your god has a track record that would make saddam hussein look like buddha. I hope you can see why I have such trouble embracing this sick twisted god you worship. We just don’t share the same values.

You realize that there isn’t really proof that Jesus even existed, right? So slandering a fictional character is worse to you than a real life human being? Death cult. And I haven’t even broached the scientific errors, ethically abhorrent decrees, and explicit contradictions of the new testament. I figured you already had that covered with corinthians.

Please, take your book of lies and explicit contradictions, and go away, you despicable troll.

I really admire the pope for standing up for the truth, God loves the gays but he hates the act of Homosexuality. I find it funny that people can slander Jesus and his name but if you say anything about a gay person you are in trouble, They cry like little babies just because some of us don’t buy into their excuses and theories, it doesn’t take a smart person to know that a man was not meant to be with a man and vis versa..I Cor 6: 9 and 10. No way does he say this is okay. The Gays have the right to their beliefs, but they need to GROW UP! We have our rights also!

For an organization that specializes on exploiting young boys for sexual purposes, whose recruits have sexual identity issues, that could easily qualify (but probably would not admit) to cross dressing, I find their homilies hypocritical. i dont agree with what the pope stated. LGBT people should be diffended like any other person. he should give the right example by not discriminating. a transexual is not in denial with himself, or with how god created him, he’s just make his outter appreance match with what he feels is inside of him. if we go to what the pope said, then women shouldnt get breast implant coz they’re not accepting how god created them, and no1 should do plastic surgery and so on. he’s really stupid

You people are making me laugh. A few of you say you figured out how bad this church is and left…only to land somewhere else, or still profess a belief in God.

This particular church MADE IT ALL UP. Yes, we had our gods before the RCC, but it was this church that cemented the trinity and all the stuff you still say you believe.

You don’t believe in them, but you still cling to THEIR fairy tale?

I’m past the point of being surprised. The Pope, as head of the Catholic Church, is an ordained bigot. It is his role to be bigot in chief, to shout about the evils of contraception in the face of a catastrophic AIDS epidemic in Africa, to promote bigotry towards homosexuals whilst concealing the fact that many of his priests are secretly buggering the altar boys, to spread hate and fear in the guise of religion.

I am grateful that many Catholics are not as closed-minded as the pontiff. I was raised a Catholic and though I have long since walked away from that faith many of my friends and family members are still practicing Catholics who have treated me no differently since I came out.

OK, so they’re not all mad about the idea of gay marriage, but many of them support it and the rest don’t really care. They listen to the teachings of their faith, listen to their conscience and make up their own minds.

Unfortunately, though, there are many, many Catholics who believe (as, technically, a good Catholic should) that the Pope’s words are gospel, and therefore while I would love to dismiss him as a crazy old nutjob, he has considerable influence.

He is entitled to believe that gay marriage is wrong and that homosexuality is a sin, but what he is doing is attempting to deny gay men and women basic human rights. In the battle for gay equality, the Pope is a war criminal.

Non-Roman Catholic “ecclesial bodies” are not “authentic churches” and are therefore beyond salvation’s reach … only the Eastern Orthodox share the Roman distinction of being “authentic churches” in Rome’s eyes … they’re more bigoted than the pope, so OF COURSE he wants to make nice with them!

Maledict the XVI seems to be raiding Pius XII’s vestment closet. Some of the outfits he’s come up with lately would be over the top at a DRAG SHOW (chuckle).

When you see him revive the beehive triple tiara, DUCK. The s**t’s gonna hit the Missal BIG TIME. Popes tend to wear that when they’re being “infallible.”
