(Anchorage, Alaska) Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is defending Miss California USA Carrie Prejean.
The former vice presidential candidate says in a statement, “The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable.”
Prejean created a stir at last month’s Miss USA pageant when she said marriage should only be between a man and a woman.Questions about her work with gay marriage opponents and nearly nude photos taken of her when she was a teenager had put her title in jeopardy, but pageant owner Donald Trump decided to let Prejean keep her state crown.
Palin says she respects Prejean for staying true to her beliefs and can relate to her “as a liberal target myself.”
Palin was a runner-up in the 1984 Miss Alaska contest.

Sorry, but I’ve waited for 55 years to get married to the man I will one day meet and love with all my heart, and in my own state of MD where I reside full time and not in CA (whenever that state marriage equality comes back) and not in New England.
Marriage is for every adult who wants it, it provides the protections, the safety net, respect and security in every area of existence for any married couple gay or straight (and the failed civil unions experiment in NJ has shown to us most of us gays in Maryland that we want marriage over civil unions any day) as civil unions can’t and don’t. Marriage covers things that civil unions can’t. Civil unions (as the people in New Jersey civil unions have found out for themselves) need constant explaining to each and every person, agency or medical professional empowered to make decisions that can impact the lives of a couple, whereas even 10 year olds on up to 100 year olds or older instantly understand the state of being married to another person. As some dictionaries define marriage (I prefer the English-language dictionary that I bought in Canada to the USA version at the time and mailed it home to the US) after marriage equality had been law in Canada long enough to render the word marriage gender neutral as reflected in that Canadian dictionary.

I think Cupid is behind all this. Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejean would make a fantastic lesbian couple.

Sadly, dumb Palin actually looks credible next to Prejean. But, she really should stick to beauty pagent tips. For instance, I hear Palin makes a lip gloss out of Moose blood that won’t stick to enamel bleach when you smile.
Why is it so hard to make a comment here without it having to be sexist? Is that to mean that the only issue anyone has with either of these humans is that they are female?
They are both just victim of forced male submission. And I’d rather be oppressed by them over any male you could conjure.
Why isn’t anyone calling Prejean on her hypocrisy and double standard. On the one hand she appears in risque’ poses and on the other bases her beliefs on the bible? Didn’t the bible condemn women for exposing their flesh and isn’t that also a sin of vanity, entering a beauty contest? If that’s not hypocrisy, I don’t know what is. Who cares is she’s against same-sex marriage, it doesn’t change the fact that she’s a moron like Palin.
Frankly, unlike some of my fellow lefties, I’m glad Prejean spoke her mind. That way, we KNOW she’s an ignorant, homophobic airhead, and we can direct our efforts to disassembling her rhetoric piece by piece.
That said – Palin needs to learn that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Prejean got to say her piece – now we get to say ours. This dynamic is essential to a free society.
Verdict: Palin, scary and anti-democracy. Prejean, just dumb.

We need someone to do a silly, air-headed drag queen imitation of Carrie Prejean. Now that would drive up the TV ratings! And Tina Fey, where are you now just when we need you to do another Sarah Palin comedy routine?
Both Palin and Prejean are equally ridiculous and equally priceless in their absolutely dizzy and crazy nonsense. We could laugh at them for years to come. Too bad they won’t marry each other. My, wouldn’t they make “a stunning pair”!
One question: What proof is there that the gay community had anything to do with those photos leaking out? I just want to know what they are basing such claims upon.

Oh yes, isn’t it in the same old testament that Palin’s daughter should be brought to the house of her father, and stoned to death.
Shows you that she, and her whole gang, are nothing but opportunists for whom religion is just a plank on a ladder to power and most likely money.
The big question is whether the Palin Downs syndrome baby is actually also the daughter’s baby. A story my wife says she saw somewhere on the net.

I live in CA & right now I’m more concerned about the outcome of Prop 8 than I am about these two ninnies. What hopeless, clueless twits; it’s a miracle they still know how to breathe, much less walk and talk.
