Original Bruno ending involved violent gay bashing

(WARNING: SPOILERS)

According to Movie Line, the original ending planned for Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie “Bruno” involved a violent gay bashing. Though the ending has since been changed, audience members for a February screening of the movie say that the film ended with Bruno (Cohen) and his assistant Lutz (Gustaf Hammerstan) being attacked at an Arkansas cage match for making out in the ring.

According to writer director Richard Day, an industry figure at the February screening, the original ending cuts to a press event after the cage match where Lutz’s character “is now drooling, seemingly brain-damaged, and in a wheelchair, played for laughs.”

According to Movie Line, the new ending has the couple “embrace domesticity with their adopted baby.” Day and actor Jack Plotnick (the only two gay people invited to the screening) complained after the movie, despite other audience members disagreeing.

“By the time I got to the bashing, the audience started defending the movie,” said Day. “They were annoyed with us for ruining the party.”

    • Wait… they used a gay bashing as comedy? That is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard! People are crippled and dye from bashing and yet they want to make a joke of it? Cohen is an idiot and needs to get his head out of his ass before he tries to make another movie.

I wasn’t planning on seeing this movie before but now I have absolutly no interest in ever supporting it. Let’s start a boycott, shall we?

The one thing I’d love to see now is for 365gay to stop supporting this movie!!! What’s with all the ads for it? What’s with the articles? Lets not give it any publicity at all.

    • I think it is time to boycott this obnoxious “straight” guy. He’s making money bashing gays for comedy, while trying to sound like he’s supporting gays in a comedy, right.

    • There are enough gay bashings in real life, I don’t want to see a movie with such a scene in it any more than I want to see a scene with animal or child abuse in it. My money shouldn’t encourage making movies with gay bashing scenes.

    • Wasn’t the movie spoiled before it was filmed?

    • James,
You are an elegant example proving my point.

    • You forgot fagtard. You must hear that a lot. How did it slip your mind? Oh wait. fagTARDED. Got it. You’re one of those slow gays.

    • It amazes me that as a group, we hate derogaroty slurs towards gays but see no problem with slinging the word retard, retarded, tard, and fucktard about.

    • How Sacha Baron thinks a movie promoting gay stereotypes is going to be an asset to the community or to humanity is best linkied to the expression: “that way madness lies”.

    • Warning SPOILER

The person who wrote this story was dropped on his head as a baby. He wears a helmet now. His name is Island Boy.

    • Sacha Baron Cohen is by far the lamest excuse of a film maker ever. I was enticed to see the first movie and walked out in the middle of it I was so repulsed. This is from the mind of a sick man.

    • I enjoyed Borat so much! Definitely will watch Bruno purely for entertainment.

    • Wait. Rewind. Go to the beginning. You’re actually starting a news article about a film using a violent gay-bashing as comedic entertainment with a SPOILER ALERT?! Are you a fucking retard or what? Your first concern is not giving away the ending of some fucktarded movie as opposed to the fact that this ‘film’ at one time culminated in a bashing that left someone brain damaged? Did I miss the caveat that said this article was written by someone who suffered a similarly debilitating brain injury or what?

If this is how we report to ourselves how can we expect better from the mainstream press? Wow.

Spoiler alert: 356gay has reached a new gay journalistic low…

    • Frankly, I cannot imagine anyone with an IQ in more than a single digit spending a cent on most anything this laughable excuse for an ‘actor’ either appears in or produces.

But I guess some people never leave a high school mentality behind.

  • Pat Said: July 1st, 2009 at 4:35 pm
    • Well, I’ll pass this “movie” up.

    • Who were these other audience members?
