Obama speaketh with forked tongue. He say pretty words and his DOJ defends DOMA with arguments that come right out of the Pat Robertson playbook.

what a load of crap, I’m sick of hearing his wonderful speeches with no meaning actions speak louder and that little memorandum that will expire when he’s out of office isnt doing most of us any good anyways. and what it is giving to the fed. employees is a very small gesture with no substance if he had done this3 months ago i may have felt a lot different but with six months gone and this being the first movement we have seen i am not getting too excited I want some real movement on DOMA not just a pretty smile

Obama is on our side. Remember that he is a constitutional law scholar: it is not the place of the President to make or repeal law but the legislator’s. This really is their job – write your Senators and Representatives in Congress if you want to see DOMA and DADT changed.

The President is not King and cannot make law, by himself, as he wills.

Obama’s powers in the Executive branch are, well, limited by the Constitution. Direct your disappointment at the appropriate branch of government.

He has mentioned DOMA before, many times – you know – when he wanted our votes and our money. This statement makes no useful reference to the brief that was filed, no apology – no anything. This is NOT good enough.. NOPE, NO MORE MONEY!

All the man seems to possess is words and lukewarm spin-control gestures when he’s backed into a corner and MUST do something – well it’s time to TURN UP THE HEAT because we’re tired of being taken for granted!

So, when Obama is beaten in the next presidential nomination, our rights will be pulled out right from under our feet. Memorandum??? That isn’t what I’m waiting for, I’m waiting for full rights in a permanent government decision. I’m mad, and after all I did to push for Obama in the 2008 presidential election, we get a memorandum….yay, for the next 3 years.
