He damn well better keep his promise or I pledge I will never vote for him for re-election.

That is the problem with these politicians. They know we won’t vote for the Republican, so they tell us what we want to hear and then do the opposite.

Well I’ve had it. IF he doesn’t follow through I will vote for Micky Mouse before I vote for him, and if it’s between him and another George Bush I will either vote a 3rd party, a write in vote (Kucinich comes to mind) or simply not vote at all.

I will NOT vote for the man if that damned policy is still in place when the next election commences.

Obama suckered the Gay vote and the one lesson we must take away is that we must have the best financed and organized structures like we see in New England to win votes and make politicians do what they say they will.

And again, we believed in a party that romanced us during the campaigns and hasn’t delivered after the elections. When are we going to learn? It’s time for a 3rd party in this country that honors what it promises. It’s time for the LGBT and other disenfranchised communities to come together and form a coalition that is a voting block to recon with. It the religious community can do it, so can we.

Obama is a disappointment in every way, except in tokenism. He himself is token, and he’s hired a few LGBT tokens, but when it comes to correcting any of the significant Bush-era wrongs, he is happy to let them continue. Even his one claim to fame, throwing money at the problem, is a Bush policy.

I find it very ironic that the Military brass has a reputation of being so strong and tough, yet we’re having to treat them with kid gloves when it comes to DADT, going slowly so as not to upset them.

When I do Life Consultation with folks, I often reference the Yin and Yang symbol, and we talk about dialectics and reconciling opposites. In that spirit, it’s interesting how, when you go way, way, WAY far with “being tough,” you run into a situation where you are actually quite “weak.”

I think the military brass are running into this dialectic right now.

And, unfortunately, lesbian, gay, and bi soldiers are stuck in the middle until we can get things moving again.

What happened to Obama’s “CHANGE”? I don’t see anything that has changed.Why doesn’t he just sit on his ass, and let all of the old policies stay in place? I voted for Obama, because of his promises of changing the way we were going. Now it’s like he has “lied” to America. Who am I supposed to believe in now? If Obama keeps listening to former “bush employees” then where is his decisions to change. CHANGE that’s all we heard, but have we seen much change? NO

Obama can not repeal DADT. Only congress can do that. Then it is up to him to sign the repeal passed by both houses.
Obama has appointed many gay people to his administration. Lets see if he signs pro gay bills or vetoes them before giving up.
Voting for republicans is self destructive. And not voting and letting them win is just as bad.
If you are angry, I hope you contact the white house and let them know. Push your representatives to repeal DADT. Then, if he votoes it, that is the time to give up. But we must keep the pressure on, because he is getting a lot of pressure from the religious reich to not support our rights. At least he said the right things during the campaigne. Keep the pressure on, but remember, he can’t repeal a law passed by congress.

You can bet DADT will still be legal at the end of 2012. There’s only one thing we as a powerful voting bloc can do. Don’t support him in 2010 and definitely not in 2012. As a gesture of good will, he could have withheld Dan Choi’s recent firing from the military, but he didn’t. Face facts, he’s not going to deliver what he said he would. We were useful, gullible pawns in the power game to get elected, nothing more. Don’t fall for it again. I’m giving not one more cent of my money to any politician, they’ve NEVER earned it.
