Most excellent. This is exactly what he said he would do during his campaign: uphold the current law while simultaneously fighting change it. He’s upholding his campaign promise.

As for you Obama doubters out there, you’re getting uglier and more cynical by the moment. I wish you’d all grow up and stop coloring every issue with some version of “This doesn’t matter, and SO WHAT IF IT DID?!”

If you want to find a weak link in the health-care scenario, it ain’t Obama. Try the moderate democrats who have threatened to vote “no” on the bill if it contains a public option. Obama doesn’t make law; congress does. If there aren’t enough votes in congress, nothing happens.

Get on the cases of those moderate democrats who are breaking ranks and diluting our majority!

I really have to disagree with many of the comments about Obama. Take a look in the rear view mirror, we have NEVER had a president do as much as he has done and even seriously considered our issues and concerns, period. And frankly I’m not sure if we ever will again. I certainly no we would not even have half of what’s important to us even being considered if any other candidate won this presidency over Obama.

We should put our energy into rallying our congressional and house leaders. These are the folks that pass laws and write new ones. The Obama bashing is just as ignorant as the republicans comments on health care and citizenship.

IF OBAMA RETREATS on health care in the face of the programmed Middle American GOP Ignorami And their Talk Radio Svengalis, then we can ALL forget ANY, ANY, ANYthing else progressive from this president!

If he retreats here, the other side will rightly smell blood in the water. They’ll know that THEY can control this man and his party.

If you think they won’t repeat this behavior to stop EVERYTHING THEY find offensive, you’re dreaming.

If Obama lets them neuter him this early, with some yelling, he might as well just hand his presidency over to Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly and company, as THEY’ll be the ones who are actually making final policy anyway.

Radical change is going to come with radical reactions! But, when those reactions are MOSTLY coming from a group that didn’t and wouldn’t vote for Obama anyway…what is he so scared of?

Behavior like this is why the Dems are always portrayed as weak kneed pussies who are more concerned with people “liking them” than standing up for anything, and THAT’s the biggest offense one can make in U.S. Politics.

If he caves on health, all progressives can just turn out the lights and call it a day, as O’ will just be seat warming for his GOP replacement in three years!

Believing discrimination begins at home, I STILL want to know why 365 Gay refuses to register me! I have made many attempts and never received a confirmation email. Is it my age? Is it my looks? Is it my religion?
I got in through the back door to say it’s high time President Obama got behind this issue. He’s capitulated on health care. He stalls about DOMA and DADT! Let’s see some effort to keep campaign promises!
