Kari: Don't you ever heard "backlash election." When the people had enough of one side party's problems. That why, democrats took the America back in control, last year. Unfortunately, in New York State, too many wolf crier problems create to take back New York State back to Republicans. That is going happen next election. Unless someone have a better game to shut up the wolf criers. It is the Republicans's problem when they lost the control of senate and don't know how to be graceful losers after the game.

There are only 25 votes for the bill, 32 are needed including some republicans. Forget it, its not going to pass this year or next year. The naysayers have seen what happened in Maine and California, their careers are more important than our equality. Its always been that way and that won't change. Call it pessimism if you like, but its our reality. We're far outnumbered, we have no "armies" of zealous supporters as the other side does and less money than they do. DOMA will NEVER be overturned, maybe DADT but definitely NOT DOMA.

I only voted for this president as the least of the two evils. I agree with others, do NOT support or vote for democrats who don't want our equality. We can't totally abandon the party altogether though I do understand the sentiment to do just that and its well founded. Who else has the power to advocate and legislate for us? Certainly not the GOP. If we all got behind the Greens maybe it would force the dems to act more aggressively in our behalf, to no longer take our votes for granted as they have always done. Without our votes, the dems can't succeed. It should be us flexing our muscle, no more political correctness, it doesn't work.

If there's no vote to at least nail down all State Senator's positions on this, then NONE of them should get any campaign funds.

The fact that the New York senate does not have the guts to stand for equality is unfortunate. Winning marriage equality across the United States is not going to be easy, but it can be done if we are prepared to struggle and not bow down.

Two steps forward and one step back. That's of course frustrating, but we can all take heart that progress is continuing and that we have right on our side.
May God continue to bless our efforts to achieve full equality.

Facebook User: It would be more wise to boycott anti-gay Democrats rather than the Democrats at large. Boycotting the entire party would only help Republicans get elected, and aside from a few bright spots the vast majority of the GOP views our civil rights as antithetical to what they believe in.

tigergwm: On what basis do you think that the Republicans will regain control of the state Senate next year?

It has go to push through the floor, before the next election, because the Republican are going to take over the majority next election and we would not go see the issue for next four to eight years. Moron Democratic !!! We are not going to make any contribution to you at next election. Your lose is our lose!!!
