Wow–this is what I mean by matching words with deeds. Bea Arthur had already done that by being an advocate for the gay community throughout her career. She always thanked and appreciated her gay fans. But to leave such a sizable amount of money to a gay charity? What an amazing woman and role model to all!

‘Maude’ and ‘Dorothy’ are characters we gays love. Why is that? Because they are strong, fair-minded women who never back down and stay true to their beliefs.

I have tears in my eyes and wish Bea was here for me to thank her for being our friend!
