Slicker it really is. Their love is conditional on believing in the church, essentially selling your soul to their homophobia.

All their “niceness” statements ring str8 from the book “Words that work” by Kurtz. Basically it is a manual of how to doublespeak and triple speak. How to use words that sound so innocuous or common, but bring out in the minds of the believers some of the worst lies about gay people, changing sexuality, etc

The price of moving up in the church is total absolute obediance. Seig Heil, Mein ChurchFuhrer.

Only in the lower ranks will you find gay equality supportive priests, eg from DignityUSA, and New Ways Ministry. The price of moving up, just like so many situations in business, is being controlled, not progressive

Why did the church hide their pedophiles for decades, while they plied their ugly trade?

I used to think it was because they feared ttheir house of cards called faith would collapse.

Now it seems reasonable that those in the hierarch who covered up the churches crimes did so because they knew it would reach up to their level and beyond.

Just plain simple.

I’m sorry, but if I was gay, I wouldn’t set foot in their stinking churches. I know that is hard to do, a lesbian told me it took her ten years to feel free of the anxieties and fears they implant in you, unless you kiss their asses.

Sadly assertions like Dolan makes “marriage as it has always been”
“the detriment of civilization” are historically inaccurate. Offer proof for your assertions before drawing conclusions for society. The fact that the Judaeo-Christian view of marriage is enshrined in American culture and law denies Mormons, Moslems as well as Homosexuals equal rights. This is an establishment of religion. Why has no legal challenge been mounted to this unconstitutional situation which is the source of inequality in the States. Instead of moaning about pedophiles which exist everywhere why not lay out principles which might form the basis for real equal treatment before the law. Best in my mind to get the Churches out of acting as agents of the State by clergy witnessing at weddings. Church weddings should follow civil rituals which testify to the public(not religius) nature of a commitment.

I have grown up in the Catholic Church, but putting Abortion and Gay Marriage in the same class is something I cannot accept. Abortion is a taking of a life, and I will never accept that, but I see nothing wrong with Gay Marriage, I have seen so many marriages of my Heterosexual friends end in Divorce and the marriages of my Gay friends remain strong. Only God has the right to judge, who a person chooses to love is thier right!
