As a Gay from Liverpool my self, I couldn’t wait to get out of that city and the way str8 youths have such a homophobic outlook there! But this could happen anywhere and I think our justice system just thinks ‘oh well these youths are just acting stupidly upoun the outlook of the majority’ why should they suffer in prison when they were just misguided in their outlook. NO enough is enough, this poor kid was cruely attacked for being who he was, whether or not murder was intended, hate definately was and thats the real crime here. I was proud that I come from a city that yesterday stood together to remember the Hillsborough disaster but equally embarrassed that it stands so far apart in the case of homophobic hate crime!

OMG sam I cannot believe that happened to you! I’m going to school to be a lawyer and a case like this will NEVER EVER slip out of my hand…. NEVER!!! I would prosecute them to the FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. A hate crime is serious. I am down with marching to the mormon church. When I was younger all they talked aout was gays in church and I hated it. I am a full blown lesbian and a church cannot save me! After all they are the ones who are trying with all there power and might to stop gay marriage. As if there aren’t a million other things they should be worried about.

Something stinks to high heaven about the jury’s verdict. The family of the victim is planning on a civil suit.

Yes, its sad that they don’t have their work proofread.

If one man already plead guilty its amazing they couldn’t find this other man guilty. I mean, they had an eye witness!

Well… which God will eventually punish him? Karma? Christian God? Whatever the case may be I hope that he gets what he deserves through the universe’s intercession.

I have to agree, with poor reporting like this, we’ll never know why he was found not guilty. (Maybe there is a reason?) But 365gay.com needs to stop spending so much time trying to sell Rachel Madoff to us (she’s been on the front page/lead story how many times now? ) And actually report some news.

It would be nice if it was spell, and grammar checked.

The problem in England my not be homophobia… but this generation of youth seems to have no respect for the dignity of life, or rights of others.

How on earth was this animal found not guilty?! Were the members of the jury on drugs? This is so tragic and sad!

Repeated problem with “staff reports”.
As this one, “not guilty verdict”. You again give the accounts of the murder and no information leading to the not guilty verdict.
That should be extremely pertinent information within the article. Why was there a “NOT GUILTY VERDICT”…What lead to it?????? No evidence/prejudice, etc…..Hello???

i have quite a good “grip” Robert! Thanks for commenting. Now please explain how I’m “writing off” an entire race of people! Was the chickens**t PUNK who committed this atrocity a member of a non white race? Does it really matter? Yes, you’re correct “robert” often times juries aren’t perfect, however when you have THIS much evidence against someone and the jury lets him walk anyway, well, I’ll let YOU figure out the “perfection” or IMperfection of THAT kind of system. I wonder if the majority of jurists were homosexuals or…hmmm….maybe HETEROsexuals, eh?

Shawn, get a grip. Even in gay friendly Holland, Canada and Belgium, straight criminals have gotten away with murdering gay people there too. Don’t write off an entire race of people over the outcome of one trial, even though we’re angry about it. These things happen, no judicial system is that perfect.
