You GO New Jersey. Let’s put the “Eastern seaboard” strategy into effect….

Moving forward, for the foreseeable future, I think we have to view gay marriage fights as having two steps: 1) Get gay marriage, and 2) Defend it successfully in the face of the inevitable backlash.

No whining about the backlash. It’s coming, accept it, deal with it.

I live in NJ and I’m really excited to hear this news…
I went onto the local newspaper’s website…(the Asbury Park Press.. if anyone is familiar with NJ they know Asbury Park is the gay landmark of the state) I was deeply hurt by the comments from NJ citizens on the article. Back to the same old abomination crap. This country is soo whacked out when this is the response from the most gay proud city in one of the most progressive states in the country.
I tried to remind myself that the enlightened New Jerseyans skip right to the NY Times…

It would be wonderful for New Jersey to become the next state of equality but, is it something that can happen or will the extreme right and so called family institutes to “protect marriage” stir up the masses to send it to a referendum banning it as it seems we all become complacent and excited only for it later to become “legally” illegal.

It should pass with no way for the bigots to make it illegal…

Amazing! It took only 2 years for people to realize for a SECOND time that “separate but equal” is never equal. And this is the best leadership our country has to offer?
