Let’s see where the chips fall on this one. New Hampshire, unlike most states, does not need a committee to approve a bill. It just gives a “recommendation” and then the full Senate votes on the matter. While the recommendation can carry some weight on issues that must be carefully studied, I think this one is different. Senators have certainly formulated their stance on the issue, and there will be a full up or down vote in the Senate. I doubt that one Senator’s vote on the issue will influence anymore. That being said, the full Senate passing the bill is far from assured. And, then there’s Gov. Lynch to deal with.

Who voted for it? Who voted against it? Why does it lie and indicate Civil Unions provide all the rights except for the name when the federal govt doesn’t recognize them?

Theocrats, foreign and domestic, are the worst enemy and most ardent threat to American democracy of our time.

The threat is not gays, not equality or justice, not a President who acts socially responsible and is branded a Socialist. The threat is politicians, judges and other civil servants who put God before the oath they swore BEFORE God to execute the duties of their offices to uphold the laws for ALL Americans.

The Republicans said “…marriage is an institution created and defined as between one man and one woman.” Another false statement made by the Republicans. The Bible is full of stories about one man and many women (wives).

God did not create marriage. Mankind created marriage.

Davis (D-Prince George’s County) is among the Democratic state legislators to notably hold a zero rating on Equality Maryland’s scorecard. In 2008, he voted against hospital visitation rights and adding domestic partners to the list of family members a person can add or remove from the deed of their home without paying recordation and transfer taxes and fees. This year, he voted against exempting domestic partners who co-own homes from inheritance taxes after the death of one person.
