I don’t see how providing this service to a gay person is going against their beliefs. They aren’t performing abortions or taking part in a sexual act. They are listening and providing advice to a gay person. Aren’t they the ones that always say “hate the sin, not the sinner?” Whatever. We all know they really want to drive gay people back underground so that there is no recognition in society.

So if I’m a Hindu and refuse to treat any beef-eater, that’s permissible? The exceptions can go on and on as we humans are MORALITY-driven with or without religion…If there’s a time to use “slipper slope” analogy, this is it.

Who would want to go to a therapist who hates gays? It’s better to know where he or she stands on the issue. This bill assumes the presenting problem is “being gay,” for which one needs treatment. Does it include gays who want therapy for other life problems??

I wouldn’t go near a psychologist I knew was a pathetic Catholic anyway. Catholics are nut cases that are born into sin, and live with perpetual guilt. They have a horrible history, and one should be ashamed to be associated with such an antiquated theology. BTW – 99 and 44/100 of psychologist are total fruit cakes as in they tend to sit on each other couches.

If these so called “professionals” received any public funds whatsoever, be it from guaranteed student loans or from grants, then not only do they have to pay the money back but they should be stripped of their credentials and forbidden to hold federal, state, or local government positions.

Just take away their medical license to practice. If they want to be a priest that is ok. But to discriminate like this should result in lawsuits and their loss of license.

If any of them work for the state or city governments, then they should NOT be excluded. Let them find alternate employment to practice their bigotry but not on my tax paying time. I doubt if Jesus Christ would have turned away anyone, how christian of them.

Doesn’t the code of ethics of psychologists, etc. demand that their members refuse to take on a patient that they can’t help? That should be enough for a narrow-practice doc.

This is an attempt by radical right religionists to assert lost power. Not buyin’ it.
