LGBT people need their own newspapers and other media more than ever. As we come under attack from organized and powerful homophobic interests, we have to be able to communicate within our own LGBT community both for political and social reasons.

This is really unfortunate. Many of us in Houston have expected this since the Houston Voice shut down a few years ago after several years of mismanagement by Window Media. They always seemed to have employee relations issues in Houston.
Their hard-line Republican editorial page that they always inflicted upon the local editors seemed to be a big part of the problem.
After Window Media closed down the print version of the Houston Voice, they maintained the Houston Voice web site absent any local news using stories written by their other publications.
