(Paris) A soccer club was permanently banned from the French amateur league on Wednesday after refusing to play a match against a gay team.
Last week, Paris Foot Gay said its members were victims of homophobia when Creteil Bebel, a team of Muslim players, refused to play them this month.The French amateur league said it excluded Creteil for “refusing the match on discriminatory grounds.”
“It’s a permanent exclusion, they will never be reinstated,” league president Jacques Stouvenel said.

The hypocrisy of Muslim men is staggering, you can engage in anal/oral sex with another man as long as: 1. you’re the top/dominate 2. you don’t fall in love.
I’m glad they got banned, serves them right! now if only the USA would follow suit. Oh, wait, then there wouldn’t be any teams playing!

France RULES! “Its a permanent exclusion, they will never be reinstated” is so clear and non-vague it is startling to hear.
Creteil Babel had best not start whining about discrimination. Liberte, fraternite, egalite. You don’t get to immigrate to a country (or be descended from immigrants), then claim that your rights are being violated. To hell with that. They could be playing as hard as possible and trying to raise money to make sure that Muslims in the Ile de France (Paris region) had their best shot at education and employment. Nope. Just perpetuates another negative stereotype among many French (and others)–to wit, “they” are perfectly happy to come from Senegal, Morocco or Algeria and sponge off the system, but ask them to deal with the majority culture (even by helping others operate in it)–oh no, asking too much.
Glad they’re banned. The “terrorist” comment was too far. If that’s true of French Muslims, then why aren’t members of the ultra-right FN (National Front) also described as “terrorists”, since they’re not too far from French version of Tim McVeigh?
That’s too bad. Too heavy handed for my taste. I voted for “just forfeit the win.”

America, at its best, does it better, in my opinion. We allow more space for people to be hypocritical and to be jerks. As long as the jerk’s fist is not smashing into someone else’s face, that person has the freedom and the right to be that way in our country.
The problem with heavy handed judgments like this one is that they can be turned around on us at times. Let’s give everyone more space to work though their “stuff” on their own.
The Muslims did no serious harm to the gay team. The gay team got the win (forfeit). Public opinion is against the Muslim team. That should be enough, but nooooooo!
What were they afraid of dont they think there”god” would help them defeat a gay team???……huhuhuh
