First, yes as an Americian she has the right to her opinion and views. She has free speech just like the KKK, and other groups that holds bigotry views. As part of free speech she also has responsibility to use free speech responsibility especially as she holds a position of power of Miss Califoria.

As a contest winner of Miss California she is no longer representing herself but the state. Therefore her opinions reflect on the state. Acoording to the regulations her bigotry is a very big no no. The pagents aheard to diversity in all forms and the contests have to agree in writing to it. A contract.

Miss Califoria signed the contract which she is now in the process of breaking it. Her crown will be taken from her and all other awards. A contract is a contract.

Miss Califoria has the right as an individual to be honest and state her believes, but that doesn’t excuse her from being a bigot. She is no differnt from a skin head other than she puts a pretty face on hatred.

Second to those posters that blame the judge for asking the question. There is nothing wrong for him to ask the question. A question that lets be honest the contestants should have anticipated. She didn’t and goof costing her the crown and exposing her for the bigot she is.

And she is a bigot.

She has the right to be a bigot, but we as citizens have the rights to oppose her and standup to say no. Just like Rosa Parks did like all others who have have prejudice and bigotry throughout history.

Hatred is not a family value.

First, the question should have never been asked.
Second, no matter what she said, it will have ticked someone off.
Third, that blow hard Hilton should have kept his mouth shut. His behavior is part of why str8 people don’t like us.

Let’s punish someone for being honest, isn’t that we whine about someone doing to us for wanting to love someone of the same sex. We are so double standard, we want to be honest and proclaim our love for another of the same sex, but don’t you dare be honest and say you disagree with it. we are as bad as blacks.

While I respect her honesty and her willingness to hold to her personal beliefs I feel those beliefs preclude her from representing all Californians or Americans.
I defend her right to speak her mind, but I also defend MY right to disagree with her and to question her character because of her beliefs.

There is no 21 year old that I can even understand let alone believe. This person is so incredibly perfect as a breeder stereotype. She’s setting women back years for just participating in the pageant. She’s far too unlearned and I hope she’s horribly embarassed by this in 5 years. I hope she comes out late in life!!!!

I feel that her crown should be pulled. What she did was lie in order to better her position at her church. Her statement at the pageant was not professional, and poorly put together. Bottom line is she is making false statements in order to make herself look more of the martyr. This is NOT the image the California pageant people should want to become a role model for young girls. And all you have to do is look at all of the Miss Preteen, Miss Jr. Teen, etc., etc., etc., and if they look to someone like Prejean as a role model………..well, poor choice. I say, “Pull the Crown”!
