To the Straight & Proud person: There is nothing wrong with being Straight and Proud, in fact some of my best friends are straight. But why do you have to hate? Why can’t you see that the fight for full citizenship affects us all? You actually seem upset that this might pass…why? Do you mind Cesar Chavez day? What about MLK day? If you’re fine with those days, why would Harvey Milk day be any different for you?

This is a most excellent idea. I was living in San Francisco when this horrible day occurred and remember vividly how I felt and how not only me, but hundreds of thousands of good and kind gay men and women felt the rug had been pulled out from under them. Harvey Milk was a truly remarkable man who deserves to be remembered throughout the ages in memory of his fine work for human kind everywhere. Let the bigots protest, this day of celebration is an absolute must for Harvey Milk and every single homosexual in the United States and the world.
