“What’s best for any child is to have both a mother and a father who are married,” Glenn said.

Why is this? My mother and father were married, but my father was a brutal thug. He beat my mother, myself, and my siblings for many years. Is this the best for the child. Eventually, my mother divorced him and none of his children talk to him. And of course there are emotional scars. Would it have been better for him to continue his brutality until something worse than beatings occurred? And yes, there are great mothers and fathers out there where the child grows up in a loving environment. There are also same-sex families where the children grow up in a loving environment. Just remember, one size doesn't fit all.

This may sound cold and heartless, but if my father had dropped dead after "doing his part" of bringing my last sibling into the world, we would have all gotten alone just fine.
