I'm still stuck on asking how in the hell the VA is able to provide such astoundingly bad care. The only significant medical facility I can think of in the US which could compete with the VA for poor care was King-Drew in LA ("Killer King" is what a co-worker called it). King-Drew was shut down because it was so bad, but it seems like there are no consequences for bad acts at the VA. Worse, all the Congressional grandstanding on VA care seems to have no impact. It's gotta change--this is no way for the American people to treat our own.

The VA's version of health care is a compromise between having terrible health care and having none at all. Perhaps we vets should just forego the VA's help. Remember the mold at Walter Reed.
