Hopefully those Lutherans who take the narrow view that homosexuality is a sin, will at least study the scriptures within the context of scientific and psychological knowledge and the community needs when they were written.  This may help them to understand that these scriptures cannot be taken as a blanket condemnation of homosexuality, although they can certainly be taken to condemn irresponsible and exploitive sexual behaviour.   The church as a choice: either to respond to Jesus&#039; command and be welcoming, or to do as the Pharisees did and block people from Christ.</description>
