I was actually outed to my recruiter and told Never to try and File paper-work with the armed forces. My goal in life was to join the military, like my father, sister, and mother

I am a current member of the armed forces. If they kicked out every gay person in the military..we wouldn't have a military left. If you talk to the leaders of today. They don't have a problem with gays serving. Its the old and out of touch seniors that wouldn't allow us to serve. We do just as good a job if not better then the straight soldiers. I work in Human Resources. You wouldnt believe the waivers for the convicted felons I see on a daily basis for new enlistees! They should allow gays before convicted felons. One new enlistee even had three charges of child porn...but we gave him a waiver to serve. What is wrong with that picture??

Chris,

According to the government's armed forces policy regarding homosexuality, a person can not engage in, attempt to engage in, or profess to be willing to engange in any form of homosexual conduct. It doesn't matter if such speech or actions happen on or off base, or while a person is on or off duty. While a person is serving in the armed forces they must abide by that policy for the entire time they are serving, even if in reserve and otherwise living a civilian life. A person can not live according to their gay desires at all nor profess willingness too do so during their time while serving, even in private life.

According to that same policy a person serving in the armed forces must not be married to or attempt to be married to a person of the same-sex.

A lot of people may not realise how invasive DADT actually is unless they read the code itself, you can find the US Code here:

I don't know what her restitution could be, but this is wonderful. It can only got to SCOTUS now, if they want to appeal. ...and being determined under the SCOTUS 2003 decision, really expands its validity I think. Lawyers?? Please help here. ... Anyway YEA!!!
