Like father like son

Like creeps, even more creepier.

I thought the Catholic church in some ways is terrible.

But you haven't seen anything yet until you begin to investigate these independent southern christian churches.

Who, like the so. bAptists, are the devil incarnate.

Intent on keeping their flock ignorant and brainwashed. And I guess the kids no longer wondering why the church loves them so much.......

A small operation could render him harmless. Is the church not about sacrifice? As Bob Barker would say, spay or neuter your friends.

It is a fundamental precept of our jurisprudence that when one serves and completes a sentence they are free to pursue their lives. Only people who violate sex laws are branded for life with a scarlet letter. Bravo to this group for giving a man a chance to be productive.

I mean really for sexual crimes of that nature the early Church would have required that you receive a written pardon from a martyr ... right? Any theology peeps wanna weigh in? I don't think Felicity and Perpetua are here signing any waivers though... LOLS.

I'm all for redemption and second chances, but you still need to be aware of the history and not put kids in harms way. If he truly feels the need to minister to "others like him", then he should take a role in community outreach and go into the prison system, and maybe be put in touch with those on parole. his second chance isn't worth the threat to a childs innocence, and they can't ever get a second chance at that.

This story would be funny if it wasn't so sad. the sad part is dumb parents will put their kids in harms way because they think he has been healed. I know someone in this faith and she prays 6 or more hours a day and claims she is healed and is healing others. Whacko.

the funny part (again, if it wasn't so sad) is how we all seem to miss the big picture. They even say he won't be ministering to children, to protect them.

ALL MINISTIRING to children is CHILD ABUSE. ALL CHILDREN need protection from these cults. Teaching children to close their minds, to limit their ascent in society, to ignore entire swaths of careers so that they can cling to ridiculous beliefs that no intelligent human holds onto over time is simply abuse.

too bad our society is so afraid of the boogey man we won't look at this for what it is.

Some states resort to civil commitment in a psych facility after sexual predators complete their prison time (Kansas started that). If you have an illness, and part of the illness is that you are all but certain to be a predator, and there's no significant disagreement on the diagnosis, then why isn't the predator the state's responsibility? Why is this man (and others like him) walking around? No, in the US legal system you can't arrest people for something they *might* do, but this is a behavioral health issue. You certainly can restrict the liberty of someone with a behavioral illness, especially if you can demonstrate that danger to others is a basic element of the illness. It costs huge amounts of money to put these people in state custody, but how the hell are we even allowing some dude who raped an 11-year-old to be in the community? It's an ongoing risk, really better described as a crapshoot. Sooner or later he'll do it again, and it's not entirely his fault because it's not primarily an action of choice. The Commonwealth of Kentucky needs to put him and similar offenders in some sort of custody--not in Corrections, not anything punitive, but basically to provide him a safe environment where he has the fewest opportunities to act on his impulses. He can minister there, not on the street in Louisville.
